Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X2 but this will work in any version
Animation Shop
Tube of your choice
Fonts of your choice – Bank Gothic Lt BT, FFF Urban & Miss Robertson
Skyline Image – I used one from Stock.xchng
Flag of choice – I used one from Monti’s World Cup Kit
Phrase of choice
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Lokas Software – 3D Shadow

I used the lovely artwork of Rion Vernon (PinUpToons)
You will need a license from cdo to use his work
Please do not use Rion’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 600 x 200
Flood fill your canvas with white
Open up your skyline image
Draw a selection around the area you want to use on your tag
It doesn’t matter about the size at the moment
Copy the selected area
On your main tag
Selections, All
Add a new raster layer
Paste into selection
Selections, None
Rename Skyline

With your skyline layer active
Adjust, Hue & Saturation – Colorize
Hue – 147 / Saturation – 0
Duplicate this layer
On the copy-
Effects, Xero – Porcelain

Change the blend mode on this layer to Overlay
Duplicate this layer – set the blend mode back to Normal
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – Radius set to 5
Lower the opacity to 50
Merge Visible these layers

Open waving flag of choice from Monti’s kit or other kit
Press shift + D to duplicate and close the original
Resize the flag to 183 pixels high, all pixels checked
Copy and paste the flag as a new layer on your main canvas
Position on the left hand side of your canvas

Duplicate your flag
Rename the original 1 and the copy 2
With layer 2 the active layer
Effects, Distortion Effects, Wave

Duplicate 2, rename the copy 3
On layer 3, repeat the Wave using the same settings

Duplicate 3, rename the copy 4
On layer 4, repeat the Wave using the same settings

Hide layers 2, 3 and 4 for now

Make sure layer 4 is the active layer, even though it’s hidden
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer
Resize if needed
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used Lokas Software – 3D Shadow

Now grab your text tool and choose a pixel font
Set your foreground to null and your background to black
Size set to 8, create as vector checked, Anti-Alias OFF
Add your phrase
Position on the right hand side of your canvas
Depending on the phrase you may have to move your tube over the left a bit more
When happy with the position, convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Add a very slight glow – these are the settings I used:

Lower the opacity down to about 65

Still with your pixel font add your credits for your artist, image and scraps
Position where best and convert to raster – add the same glow to this if needed
Select another bold type font
Keep your foreground on null but set your background to a colour from your flag or tube
Create as vector still checked and turn Anti-Alias back on too
Size will depend on your font choice and text
Now add some text that is part of your phrase
Position along the bottom of you canvas
Use the nodes to stretch it out so it almost fills the width of the canvas
If needed stretch it up slightly too
When happy with the size and placement, convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H – 2 / Opacity – 47 / Blur – 5 / Colour – Black

Still with your text tool, choose a scripty font
Change your background colour to black, keep your foreground on null
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both still checked
Add your name
Position to the left hand side of your canvas over your flag
When happy with the placement, convert to raster
Add the same drop shadow as you used before

Add a new raster layer, make sure its at the top of the layer palette
Flood fill with black or a dark colour of your choice
Selections, All, Modify, Contract by 1 pixel
Press delete on your keyboard
Selections, None
Add the same drop shadow
Repeat the drop shadow but change the V&H to -2 (minus 2)

Now ensure layers 2, 3 and 4 are still hidden
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Open up Animation Shop (AS)
Edit, Paste as a new animation
Click back to PSP

Hide layer 1 and unhide layer 2
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
