My Heart

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X4 but any version will do
Animation Shop
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used Roskrift Clean
MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Xero – Porcelain
AAA Frames – Foto Frame

I used the awesome artwork of Helena Reis
You will need a license from DSI to use her work
Please do not use Helena’s work without purchasing a license first

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 600×250, flood fill with black
Select your pen tool with these settings:
Mode – Draw Lines & Polylines / Create as vector / Line Style – Solid / Width – 8
Set your foreground to grey (#383838), background to null
Hold your shift key and draw a line horizontally across your canvas
Convert to raster

Effects, Plugins, MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Choose the *Line preset
Change the number to 13 / Shift X – 0 / Shift Y – 100

Effects. Distortion Effects, Wave
Horizontal displacement:
Amplitude – 0 / Wavelength – 1
Vertical displacement:
Amplitude – 5 / Wavelength – 28
Repeat – checked

Duplicate and on the copy
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – Radius set to 4

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer
Position on one side of the canvas
I mirrored my tube and placed on the left
Effects, Xero, Porcelain – Use the default settings but change the blue channel to 0

Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Activate the black background layer
Layers, Promote Selection to layer
Move the promoted layer so its directly below the tube layer
Selections, None
Lower the opacity to about 55

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer again
Position on the opposite side (mirror this tube if needed)
Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Selections, Modify, Expand by 2 pixels
Add a new raster layer
Move it below your tube layer
Flood fill with white
Selections, None

Duplicate the white layer twice
On the original
Effects, Image Effects, Offset –
Horizontal offeset – -6 (minus 6) / Vertical offset – 0 / Custom & Transparent – checked
On the middle layer (1st copy)
Effects, Image Effects, Offset –
Horizontal offeset – -4 (minus 4) / Vertical offset – 0 / Custom & Transparent – checked
Recolour this layer black using your manual color correction tool {mini tut here}
You should now have what appears to be a double glow round your tube

Activate your main tube layer
Select your magic wand with these setting:
Mode – Add (Shift) / Match Mode – RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather – 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias – checked
Select part of your tube – I selected the heart
Selections, Promote selection to layer
Selections, None

Duplicate the promoted layer twice
On the original promoted layer
Effects, DSB Flux, Bright Noise –
Intensity – 25 / Click Mix once

On the 1st copy, repeat the Bright Noise
Clicking Mix once again
On the 2nd copy, repeat the Bright Noise
Clicking Mix once again

Hide the 3 promoted layers
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible the other layers
Duplicate the merged layer
On the copy
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – Radius set to 4
Change the blend mode to Screen

Now on both merged layers
Effects, Plugins, AAA Frames – Foto Frame

Select your text tool and choose a font
Foreground set to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name, position where it looks best
When happy convert to raster
Lower the opacity till you like how it looks – mine was set to 65
Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer

Unhide Promoted layer 1
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Open up Animation Shop (AS)
Edit, Paste as a new animation

Back to PSP
Hide promoted layer 1 and unhide the 1st copy
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste after current frame

Back to PSP
Hide the 1st copy and unhide the 2nd copy
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste after current frame

Save as a .gif file
