Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X4 but any version will do
Animation Shop
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used American Purpose Stripe 1 & KG Sweet N Sassy
Eye Candy 5:Impact – Motion Trail & Gradient Glow
Happy New Year by Sarah or kit of choice

I used the awesome artwork of Rion Vernon (PinUpToons)
You will need a license from CDO to use his work
Please do not use Rion’s work without purchasing a license first

Let’s Start
Open a new cavas 400×400 and flood fill with white
Open Frame 1 from the kit
Using your selection tool, draw a selection round one of the frames
Edit, Copy
On your main working canvas – Edit, Paste as a new layer
Duplicate the frame twice, giving you 3 layers

On the original frame layer
Image, Rotate, Free Rotate – 5 degrees to the Left, all layers unchecked
On the 1st copy (middle frame layer)
Image, Rotate, Free Rotate – 5 degrees to the Right, all layers unchecked

Select your magic wand with these settings:
Mode – Add (Shift) / Match Mode – RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather – 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias – checked
Activate the top frame
Now click inside the frame with your magic wand
Because of the shadow it won’t select as we want it
So zoom in slightly, now click again in the area between your selection and the frame

It should now be selected right up to the edge of the frame

Selections, Modify, Expand by 2 pixels
Add a new raster layer
Move it below the top frame layer on your layer palette

Open the Clock from the kit – Edit, Copy
Back on your main canvas
Edit, Paste into selection

Grab your eraser tool and erase the circles at the top & bottom of the frame
I drew a red circle round the area in the screen shot below

Make sure you erase both layers (the colored and white)

Open Swirl 3 from the kit
Resize to 250 pixels high

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer
Move your tube layer to the top of your layer palette
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used Lokas Software – 3D Shadow

Select your text tool and choose a bold font
Set your foreground to null and your background to the grey from the swirls

Position so it sits just on top of the 2012 text

Using the same font add your name
Position where it looks best
Add the same gradient glow and drop shadow

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
