I used the awesome artwork of Jonathon Earl Bowser
You will need a license from CDO to use his work
Please do not use Jonathon’s work without purchasing a license first

Let’s Start

Open a new canvas 400×400, flood fill with white
Copy and paste your close up as a new layer
Position on the left hand side of the canvas
You want to so part of the image is ‘off canvas’

Duplicate your tube layer
On the copy
Image, Rotate, Free Rotate 20 degrees to the right
Move this tube to the bottom right of your canvas

Duplicate the copy, then Image, Mirror
Position in the blank space above the 1st copy
Layers, Arrange, Move Down
You should have something similar to this now

Hide the white layer
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Unhide the white layer

Working on your tube layer
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Find MC_Mask13 or one of choice
Source luminance, fit to layer & hide all mask – checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Grab your selection tool set to rectangle
Mode – Add (shift) / Feather – 0 / Anti-Alias – checked
Draw a selection round the solid edges of the mask (see below)

Selections, Modify, Feather by 15 pixels
Now with your masked layer the active one, press delete on your keyboard
I just didn’t like the solid edges on the mask layer hehe

Now grab your freehand selection tool
Selection type – Point to point / Mode – Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing – 0 / Anti-Alias – Checked
Draw a selection round parts of the masked image, I choose the lips

Selections, Promote selection to layer
Selections, None
Activate the masked layer
Adjust, Hue & Saturation – Colorize
H – 147 / S – 20

Add a new raster layer, name it Tone
You want this layer above the masked layer and below the promoted layer
Effects, Plugins, MuRa’s Meister – Tone

Staying on the tone layer
Repeat the mask you used before
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Lower the opacity to about 30

At this point, I duplicated the promoted layer and then merged the 2 promoted layers together so it stood out more

Back to your masked layer
Duplicate twice
On the original layer
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – HSB Noise
Make sure you set the Random Seed to 5

Rename this layer mask 1

Activate the 1st copy
Repeat the HSB Noise but change the random seed to 10
Rename mask 2 and hide

Activate the 2nd copy
Repeat the HSB Noise but change the random seed to 15
Rename mask 3 and hide

Activate your promoted layer
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer
Apply the same mask to this tube layer
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
I softened the edges of the tube by erasing areas this is optional

Select your text tool and choose your font
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Set your foreground to null and your background to a color from your image
Add your name and/or message
Position where it looks best
When happy convert to raster

Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 400 – Gradient Glow

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer

You can at this point, delete the white layer and save as a jpg/png
Or carry on and animate 🙂

Ensure Mask 2 and Mask 3 are both hidden
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Open Animation Shop (AS)
Edit, Paste as a new animation

Back to PSP
Hide Mask 1 and unhide Mask 2
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste After current frame

Back to PSP
Hide Mask 2 and unhide Mask 3
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste After current frame

Staying in AS
Edit, Select All
Animation, Frame Properties – set this to 25
Save as a .gif file
All Done 🙂
