Mum 2 Be

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X4 but any version will do
Tube & Close Up of Choice
Font of Choice – I used MTF Cool Kid
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Lokas Software – 3D Shadow
Mommy is Me kit by Skullies Skrapz

I used the awesome artwork of Jamie Kidd
I purchased this tube when Jamie was with CILM, you now purchase her art from CDO
Please do not use Jamie’s work without purchasing a license first

Note: When opening any papers or elements from the kit, press shift + D to duplicate and close the original, always work on the copy

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 400×400 or larger if you prefer larger tags
Open 3 papers and a frame from your kit of choice
Press shift + D on each one to duplicate
Close the originals
Resize the papers to the size of your canvas
Resize the frame to a little over half the size of your canvas (mine was 250 wide)

Copy and paste your frame as a new layer
Position on the left hand side of your canvas

Activate your white background layer
Copy and paste all 3 papers as a new layer onto your main canvas
Grab your selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rounded Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Draw a selection on your canvas
Go from the left hand edge of your frame over towards the right

Selections, Invert
Activate your first paper and press delete
Repeat for the two other papers
Selections, None

On your top paper
Image, Free Rotate, Left by 10 degrees, all layers unchecked
On your bottom paper
Image, Free Rotate, Right by 10 degrees, all layers unchecked
Now move the top paper up slightly
Move the bottom paper down slightly
Until you are happy with the overall look of the 3 papers
Add a drop shadow to all 3 paper layer I used:
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 50 / Blur: 5 / Color: Black

Activate your frame layer
Grab your magic wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (Shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Click inside the frame
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5 pixels
Selections, Invert
Open another paper of choice
Shift + D to duplicate, close the original
Resize to the size of your canvas
Copy and paste as a new layer
Press delete on your keyboard
Selections, None
Move the new paper layer below your frame layer on your layer palette

Copy and paste your close up as a new layer
Position within the frame
Activate the paper layer below
Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Selections, Invert
Activate your tube layer and press delete once
Selections, None
Lower the opacity of your tube to about 35

Copy and paste your full size tube of choice as a new layer
Position where you think it looks best within the frame
Resize if needed
Add a drop shadow of choice I used Lokas Software – 3D Shadow

Grab your freehand selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: checked
Draw a selection round any part of your tube that is below the frame

Making sure your tube layer is active
Press delete on your keyboard once
Selections, None

Activate your frame layer
Grab your magic wand – same settings as before
Click inside your frame
Selection, Invert
Activate your tube layer
Selections, Promote selection to layer
Selections, Modify, Contract by 5 pixels
Back on your original tube layer and press delete on your keyboard once
Selections, None

Activate your promoted layer
Move this above your frame layer on the layer palette
Tidy up any tube from the bottom area

Activate your white background layer
Open another paper
Shift + D to duplicate and close the original
Resize to the size of your canvas
Copy and paste as new layer
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Find AR315_CMC_mask129 or one of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Add any elements of choice to jazz up your tag

Activate the top layer on your layer palette
Select your text tool and choose a font
Set your foreground to null
background to a color of choice from your tag
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add you name and position where happy
Do Not Convert to raster
Duplicate your text layer

On the original, convert to raster
On the copy
Click the little + sign on your layer palette
Right click on the indented layer and choose Properties
Change the Fill color to another color from your tag
Now Convert this layer to raster too

Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Choose the Fat preset and set the color to a complimenting color from your tag

Repeat the Gradient Glow on your other text layer

Now grab your eraser tool
Activate the top text layer
Erase (carefully) every other letter
Now activate the lower text layer and erase the letters that you didn’t erase on the top layer
EG: on the top layer I erased i & n
so on the lower text layer I need to erase F o & a
Back on the top text layer
Layers, Merge, Merge Down
Add a drop shadow of choice I used:
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 50 / Blur: 5 / Color: Black

Add your artists copyrights, scrappers credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Delete the white background layer

Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 🙂

This sample uses a fab kit by Gizaa Designs, unfortunatly it seems Gizaa’s site is no longer online, however I didn’t discover this until after I made the tag.

This sample uses the art Elias Chatzoudis, which you can buy at PTE and a fabby kit by Sarah, I got this kit for free a while back for liking the PMTW/s FB page, you can however now buy this kit from PMTW/s
