Cupcake

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X4 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used KG Sweet N Sassy
Lokas Software – 3D Shadow
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Mask 539 by Insatiable Dreams
Chin Up, Cupcake Kit by Designs by Sarah or kit of choice

I used the awesome artwork of Suzanne Woolcott
You will need a license from Gorjuss Art to use her work
Please do not use Suzanne’s work without purchasing a license first

Note: When opening any papers or elements from the kit, press shift + D to duplicate and close the original, always work on the copy

Let’s Start
Open a new blank canvas 400×400
Selections, All, Modify, Contract by 25 pixels
Copy and paste a paper of choice as a new layer
Selections, Invert
Press delete on the paper layer
Selections, None

Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from disk
Look for 539InsatiableDreams or a mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer & Hide all mask – checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Open a frame of choice and resize to 350 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer onto your main canvas
Duplicate your frame layer

Activate your mask layer
Copy and paste another paper of choice as a new layer
Grab your magic wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Activate one of your frame layers and click inside with your magic wand
Selections, Modify, Expand by 3 pixels
Selections, Invert
Activate your paper and layer and press delete
Selections, None

Activate your bottom frame layer
Copy and paste your tube of choice as a new layer
Erase any parts of the tube that are below the frame
I drew a selection round the area

Now activate the top frame layer
Erase any parts of the frame so you tube is on top
I drew a selection round the area

Activate your tube layer and add a drop shadow of choice
I used Lokas Software – 3D Shadow

Open the cupcaketag2 from the kit
Resize to 150 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer
Move to the top of your layer palette
Position on the left side of the frame so it hangs over the cupcake on the frame
Lower the opacity to 65
Grab your freehand selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: checked
Draw a selection round the cupcake where the tag overlaps it

Activate your top frame
Selections, Promote selection to layer
Selections, None
Move the promoted layer above the tag on your layer palette
Put the opacity of your tag layer back up to 100

Activate the bottom frame
Open the rainbow from the kit
Resize to 30%
Copy and paste onto your working canvas as a new layer
Position above the frame behind the tag

Activate the promoted layer
Open one of the buttons
Resize to 25%
Copy and paste onto your working canvas as a new layer
Position so it sits just over the tag
Lower the opacity to 40
Grab your freehand selection tool, with the same settings as before
Carefully select round the ribbon of the tag that is currently under the button

Activate the tag layer
Selections, Promote selection to layer
Selections, None
Move the promoted layer above the button on your layer palette
Put the button back up to 100% opacity

Activate your mask layer
Open the 2 sets of sequins from the kit
Resize both sets to 30%
Copy and paste them as a new layer onto your working canvas
Position on the right hand side of your frame
With the top sequin layer active
Layers, Merge, Merge Down

Activate the top layer on your layer palette
Grab your text tool and choose a font
Set your foreground to null, background to any color (we will be changing this)
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where happy
Do Not Convert to Raster

Open some papers from the kit
I have 5 letters in my name so opened 5 papers
Minimise them all

On your layer palette, click the little + sign on your vector layer
Now right click on the indented layer and select :
Convert Text to Curves -> As Character Shapes

You will now have another little +sign
Click it again
Each letter will now be indented, sort of on its own layer
Right click on the first letter and select Properties
Click the fill box and set it to one of the papers

Now click on the next letter and set that to another paper
Repeat this for all your letters
Once all your letters have been changed
Convert to raster

Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add a drop shadow of choice I used
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 45 / Blur: 3 / Color: Black

Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as jpg/png
