Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X4 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Photo of Choice
Font of Choice – I used LD Beatnik
Masks 3 & 5 by Kristin at Toxic Desirez
MuRa’s Meister – Clouds
PhotoEffex – Scanlines
Lokas Software – 3D Shadow
Eye Candy 5:Impact – Extrude

I used the awesome artwork of Melia Newman, You will need a license from CDO to use her work
Please do not use Melia’s work without purchasing a license first
I also used a photo by CazW, I purchased this image when Caz was with CILM, she is now FTU, however please ensure the artist you are using allows you to mix the work. Caz does require © on her FTU images

Let’s Start

Note:Ensure your Status bar is turned on, you will need it for this tutorial

Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – Radius set to 25
Hide the white background
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible

Keep your white layer hidden for now
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer
Do not resize to fit, it doesn’t matter if its too big for the canvas
Change the blend mode to Soft Light and lower the opacity to 61
Position on the left or right hand side of your canvas
You want the face in the middle of your canvas (ish!)
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Resize by 85% all layers unchecked

Unhide the white background layer
With your merged layer active
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for Kristin-TD-Mask5 or one of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Duplicate your masked layer, hide the copy for now
On the original
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5

Grab your selection tool with these settings:

Change the blend mode to Soft Light

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer
Resize if needed
Position so it sits just in front of your tube that’s within the masked layer
You want to make sure that your tube is higher and lower than the mask layer
Add a drop shadow of choice I used Lokas Software – 3D Shadow

Now grab your eraser tool
Shape: Round / Size: 250 / Hardness, Density & Thickness: 100 / Step: 10 / Rotation: 0 / Opacity: 15
Activate your photo layer
Click your eraser over the part of the photo that covers the tube on your masked layer
You will have to do this several time
You want to really reduce the visibility of the photo in that area
I pressed it 9 times

Activate you white background layer again
Add a new raster layer
Selections, All
Copy and paste your photo into selection again
Selections, None
Resize by 90%, all layers unchecked

Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for Kristin-TD-Mask3
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Add a drop shadow of choice to this layer I used:
V&H: 0 / Opacity: 65 / Blur: 3 / Color: Black
Activate your main tube layer

OPTIONAL:
Add any elements of choice that compliment your tag
I used a shell & starfish by ChaosPriestess from her By The Sea kit (no longer available)
Add a drop shadow of choice to your elements I used
V: 2 / H: 0 / Opacity: 65 / Blur: 6 / Color: Black

Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer

With your text tool still active, choose a chunky font
Set your foreground to null, background to a color from your image
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add the first letter of your phrase
Position where you want your word art
Convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 5: Impact – Extrude

Change your background to another color from your image
Add your next letter and convert to raster
Repeat the extrude but change the angle
Just mess until you get a setting you like (that’s what I did and I didn’t write down the angles *sorry*)
Continue like this until you have added your phrase
Once all your letters are added and arranged as you want them
Hide all layers except the letter layers
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Layers, View, View All
Add a drop shadow of choice I used
V: 2 / H: 0 / Opacity: 65 / Blur: 6 / Color: Black

Now you can repeat this for you name or just select another font and add your name as normal

Delete the white background layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 🙂
