Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X4 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used Fido (rainbow) / Dancing in the Minefields (taste the) / Janda Silly Monkey (name)
Mask 23 by Brutal Designs
Eye Candy 5: Impact – Gradient Glow
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Rainbow Bright kit by Pimp’d Designs or one of choice

I used the awesome artwork of Amy Matthews

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 400×400 and flood fill with white
Open the Rainbow and resize to 350 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer onto your white canvas
Move upwards on the canvas so the bottom is around the middle of the canvas
Duplicate the rainbow
On the copy, Image, Flip

Still working on the copy
Effects, Distortion Effects, Wave

Move the copy up so it overlaps the original slightly

Carefully erase the parts that are overlapped
Duplicate both rainbow layers
Hide all layers except the copy of each rainbow
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Hide this layer and unhide all other layers

Open the cloud and resize to 250 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer
Position where it looks best over the original rainbow

Open the Sun and resize to 150 pixels
Copy and paste as a new layer
Position on the other side of your cloud

Open 2 matching papers of choice I used papers 7 and 10
You want a patterned one and a plain one
Resize both to 400 pixels wide
Activate the white background layer
Copy and paste each paper as a new layer
You want the plain one directly above the white background, then the patterned one

Working on the plain paper layer first
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for Mask 23 by Brutal Designs or one of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and hide all mask checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Repeat the mask on the patterned paper layer
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Now play about with the blend mode of the patterned paper layer until you get a look you like
I set mine to Soft Light

Unhide your merged rainbow layer
Select your magic wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Click outside the merged rainbow
Selections, Modify, Feather by 25
Activate your bottom mask layer and press delete on your keyboard
Activate the top mask and again press delete
Selections, None
You can now delete the merged rainbow layer

Activate your copy of rainbow
Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Open your tube of choice
Copy and paste as a new layer
Resize if needed
Add a blurry drop shadow of choice I used:
V: 0 / H: 12 / Opacity: 65 / Blur: 12.87 / Color: Black

Select your text tool and choose a bold style font
Set your foreground to null and your background to black
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add some text of choice – I wrote RAINBOW (in caps)
Position towards the bottom of the tag
Use the nodes to stretch your text if needed
When happy with the size and placement, convert to raster

Grab your freehand selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: checked
Select the first letter of your word
Using your manual color correction tool {mini tut here}
Recolor to a color from your tag
Selections, None

Now draw a selection round the 2nd letter
Again recolor to another color from your tag
Repeat until you have recolored all your letters
I used 5 colors in mine

Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 5: Impact – Gradient Glow
These are the settings I used

Add the same gradient glow but change the color to one of the colors from your text
Add a drop shadow of choice I used:
V&H: 0 / Opacity: 51 / Blur: 8.91 / Color: Black

Keep your text tool active and choose another font
Foreground set to null, Background set to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add more text or repeat your name (I wrote Taste The)
Use the nodes to stretch your text if needed
Position where it looks best
When happy with size and placement, convert to raster

Add a drop shadow of choice I used:
V&H: 1 / Opacity: 58 / Blur: 4 / Color: Black
I repeated the shadow again just to make it darker

I changed my font again and added my name
I added a slight gradient glow to the text too

Add the same drop shadow as you used on your previous text

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Hide the white background and crop away the excess
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 🙂

Another sample using PinUpToons, who is also licensed through CDO. I used Fido for my name and Janda Everyday Casual for the Taste The Rainbow text
