Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X4 but any version will do
Animation Shop
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used LHF Bounce
Xenofex 2 – Constellation
Xero – Radiance
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Mask 29 by Brutal Designs

I used the awesome artwork of Helena Reis
You will need a license from DSI to use her work.
Please do not use Helena’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 400×400 and flood fill with white
Select two complimentary colors from your tube, set one to your foregrund and one to your background
Change your foreground to a fore/back gradient
Style: Linear / Angle: 90 / Repeats: 25 / Invert: unchecked
Add a new raster layer and flood fill with your gradient

Swap your foreground and background colors round
This will swap the stripes on your gradient
Add another new layer and flood fill with the new gradient

Effects, Distortion Effects, Pixelate
Block width: 20 / Block height: 20
Effects, Edge Effects, Enhance

Repeat both of these on Raster 2

Activate Raster 3
Select your selection tool and click on custom selection

Press delete
Click your custom selection icon again

Press delete
Keep repeating your custom selection and pressing delete with these settings below

Selections, None

Activate Raster 2 and duplicate twice to give you 3 layers
Rename 1, 2 and 3
Working on 1
Effects, Plugins, Xenofex 2 – Constellation

Repeat on layers 2 and 3 but click Random

Activate Raster 3 and duplicate twice to give you 3 layers
Rename 1, 2 and 3
Hide all layes except both the 3 layers
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Rename 3 and hide this layer

Unhide both the 2 layers
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Rename 2 and hide this layer

Unhide both the 1 layers
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Rename 1

With layer 1 active
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for Mask 29 by Brutal Designs or one of choice
Source luminance, Fit to canvas and Hide all mask checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
If the layer looks light, duplicate and merge them

Repeat the mask on layers 2 and 3
You will need to unhide to apply the mask then re-hide

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer
Position the face within the masked area toards one side
Crop your canvas back to 400×400
With your tube the active layer
Repeat the mask
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Still on the tube layer
Effects, Plugins, Xero – Radiance use the default settings
Lower the opacity of your tube to about 67

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer again
Resize if needed
Select your eraser tool with these settings
Shape: Round / Size: 105 / Hardness: 40 / Step: 1 / Density & Thickness: 100 / Rotation: 0 / Opacity: 45
Carefully erase the bottom part of your tube so it fades out

Add a drop shadow of choice to your tube I used:
V: 0 / H: 15 / Opacity: 65 / Blur: 16.83 / Color: Grey (#313333)

Select your text tool and choose a font
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice from your tag
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name
Use the nodes to stretch and/or angle your text if required
When happy, convert to raster

Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add a drop shadow of choice
I used the same settings as on my tube but changed the Horizontal to 3

Add your artists copyrights ad your own taggers watermark as a new layer

Hide the white background and crop away any excess canvas
You can at this point save as a jpg/png
Carry on to Animate

To Animate
Ensure layers 2 and 3 are both hidden, all other layers visible
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Open Animation Shop (AS)
Edit, Paste as a new animation

Back to PSP
Hide layer 1 and unhide layer 2
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste after the current frame

Back to PSP
Hide layer 2 and unhide layer 3
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste after the current frame
Save as a gif file
