Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 400×400 and flood fill with white
Select your text tool and choose a bold font – I used Arial Black
Set your foreground to a light color from your tube, background set null
Create as vector and Anti- Alias both checked
Set your line/stroke width to 3, size to about 200
Type out the first letter of your name/word
Position down and to the left slightly
When happy with the size and position, convert to raster
Duplicate – rename the original Extrude
Rename the copy Top Letter

Activate Extrude layer
Copy and paste your image as a new layer – rename Image
Position within the letter
Select your magic wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Activate Top Letter
Click inside, Selections, Modify, Expand by 2 pixels
Selections, Invert
Activate the image layer and press delete
Keep Selected, Selections, Invert
Add a new raster layer – name it Letter Fill
Flood fill with a darker color of choice
Selections, None
Move Letter Fill layer below Image layer
Change the blend mode on your Image layer to Luminance (legacy)

Activate Extrude layer

Select your text tool again and select another font – I used TheNautiGal
Set your foreground to null, background set the color used for Letter Fill layer
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Drop the size down to about 100
Add the rest of your name/word as a new layer
Use the nodes to angle/stretch your text if required
When happy with size and placement, convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Set the colors to your original light color (should still be your foreground color)

Add the same drop shadow as you just used but uncheck the shadow on new layer box
If like me you used a word not your name – add your name using the same steps

Activate your white background layer
Copy and paste your doodle as a new layer – resize if needed
Position where it looks best
Duplicate and working on the copy
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer above the doodles layers
Resize your tube if needed
Position your tube where it looks best
