Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X7 but any version will do
Animation Shop
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Charade JF
MPM Mask 14 by Millie
MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Photo Effex – Scanlines
Distort – Ocean Ripples

I used the awesome artwork of Vinegar
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO.
Please do not use Vinegar’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 400 x 400
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer
Effects, Plugins, MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Use the Wallpaper Rotate – at default settings
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 1
Effects, Art Media Effects – Brush Strokes

Copy this layer as a new image and minimise until later
Rename this layer BG

Back on your main image
Select your preset shape tool, set it to ellipse
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Width set to 15
Set your foreground to ANY color not in your BG layer
Background set to null
Hold your shift key and draw an ellipse on your canvas
Objects, Align, Center in Canvas
Duplicate, on the copy, convert to raster – rename Circle
On the original, hide this layer KEEPING it in vector form

Activate the Circle layer
Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Activate your BG layer and promote selection to layer
Selections, None
Delete the Circle layer
Rename the Promoted Layer – Frame
Layers, Arrange, Move to Top

Working on your Fame layer
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Select your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (Shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select inside your Frame
Selections, Modify, Expand by 10 pixels
Selections, Invert
Activate your BG layer and press delete
Selections, None

Still with your BG as the active layer, duplicate it
Rename the copy – Stripes
Working on the Stripes layer
Effects, Plugins, Photo Effex – Scanlines

Select your Selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select the lighter lines

Ensure you are on the Stripes layer and press delete
Selections, None
Change the blend mode to Overlay

Activate the BG layer and duplicate 3 times so you have 4 copies
Rename the copies 1, 2 and 3

Activate 1
Effects, Plugins, Distort – Ocean Ripple

Lower the opacity to 60

Activate 2 and repeat the Ocean Ripple but change the Ripple Size to 7
Lower the opacity to 60
Activate 3 and repeat the Ocean Ripple but change the Ripple Size to 5
Lower the opacity to 60

Activate Stripes – Select, All, Float, Defloat
Press delete on layers 1, 2 and 3
Selections, None
Hide layers 2 and 3 for now

Activate the Stripes layer
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer
Resize if needed – I resized by 65%
Position so the top part if above the top of the frame
Apply a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 0 / H: -10 / Opacity: 48 / Blur: 13.86 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: unchecked

Using your selection tool, same settings as above
Select the top part of your tube that is below the frame

Selections, Promote selection to layer
On the original tube layer – press delete
Selections, None
Move the promoted layer above the Frame
Erase any excess tube that is outside the Frame at the bottom

Activate the promoted layer
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Crop away any excess canvas
Image, Increase canvas size to 400 x 400, central placement selected
Edit, Paste as a new layer
Line this merged layer up with the original layer if not already
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 6
Change the blend mode to Overlay and Opacity to 70

Maximise the new image of the background we minimised earlier
Edit, Copy
You can now delete this image
Back on your main tag
Activate Raster 1 and add a new raster layer
Selections, All, Modify, Contract by 25 pixels
Paste the BG into the selection
Selections, None
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
look for MPM Mask14 or one of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask – all checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Unhide the Vector circle layer and drag it to the top of your layer palette
Image, Flip
Line it back up with the original circle layer

Activate your merged layer
Select your text tool and choose a font
Foreground set to null, Background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Place your mouse over the edge of the circle
Click and add your name

Use the nodes to stretch if needed
When happy, convert to raster
Apply a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 45 / Blur: 5.94 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: unchecked
Delete the vector circle layer now

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Crop away any excess canvas
At this point you can save as jpg/png

To Animate
Activate Raster 1, which should be blank, flood fill with white
Ensure layers 2 and 3 are both hidden
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Open Animation Shop (AS)
Edit, Paste as a new animation

Back to PSP
Hide 1 and unhide 2
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste after current frame

Back to PSP
Hide 2 and unhide 3
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste after current frame

Staying in AS
Edit, Select All, Animation, Frame Properties – set this to 25
Save as a gif file
All Done 🙂

And the non-animated version 🙂
