Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X7 but any version will do
Animation Shop
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – Iused Defused and Sixteen
Texture of Choice – I used Grunge 15 by TextureMate
MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
DSB Flux – Bright Noise

I used the awesome artwork of Rebecca Sinz
You can purchase her work and a license from Elven Star
Please do not use Rebecca’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 550 x 175
Flood fill with a color of choice to compliment your tube
Open your texture of choice
Resize to 550 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer
Change the blend mode to Luminance (legacy)

Select your pen tool with these settings:
Mode: Draw lines & polylines  / Create on Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 35.00
Set your foreground to a complimentary color, background set to null
Pull your canvas out all the way round so you can see

Holding your shift key, draw a vertical line longer than your canvas is tall

Objects, Align, Center in Canvas
Convert to raster and rename Top Line

Working on Top Line
Image, Free Rotate, 40 degrees to the Right
Effects, Plugins, MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Choose the line preset with these settings:

Select your selection tool and choose the Custom Selection, with these settings:

Selections, Invert
Ensure you are on Top Line and press delete
Selections, None

Duplicate Top Line, rename the copy Bottom Line
On Bottom Line, Image, Flip, then Mirror
With Bottom Line above Top Line
Layers, Merge, Merge Down
Rename Lines 1

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Main Tube
Position on either side, depending on the way your tube is facing
Duplicate and Image, Mirror
Position so the eyes are between the lines on the copy
Move the copy below the Lines 1 layers – rename Bottom Tube
Change the blend mode to Soft Light
Reduce the opacity to 59

On your Main Tube
If your tube is on the left (like mine) apply the following drop shadow:
V: 0 / H: 10 / Opacity: 42 / Blur: 17.82 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Checked
If your tube is on the right apply this shadow instead
V: 0 / H: -10 / Opacity: 42 / Blur: 17.82 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Checked

Activate Lines 1
Duplicate 3 times for a total of 4 layers
Rename the copies Lines 2, 3 and 4
Activate Lines 1 again
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Choose a complimentary color

Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5

Still on Lines 1, apply the following drop shadow
V: 20 / H: 0 / Opacity: 75 / Blur: 4.95 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Checked
Select your selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select along the bottom so you have the bottom part of the line shadow selected
Selections, Invert and press delete
Selections, None
Duplicate your shadow layer
On the copy – Image, Flip then Mirror
Layers, Merge, Merge Down – rename Lines Shadow

Activate Lines 2
Effects, Plugins, DSB Flux, Bright Noise

Activate Lines 3
Repeat the Bright Noise and click Mix once
Hide this layer
Repeat on Lines 4, clicking Mix once again
Hide this layer too

Select your text tool and choose a bold font
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your text of choice – I wrote ‘TOXIC’
Stretch it out using the nodes so it fills the gap between the lines and your Main tube
When happy, convert to raster
Apply the same Gradient Glow as used before
Add the following drop shadow:
V: 3 / H: 9 / Opacity: 75 / Blur: 4.95 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Checked
Activate the text layer
Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Activate the text shadow and press delete
Selections, None
Change the blend mode of your text to Soft Light

Change your font to another of choice
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name
Position where best and convert to raster
Apply the same drop shadow but change the color if needed – I changed mine to Black (#000000)

Activate your Background layer and duplicate
On the copy – Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Activate your texture layer and duplicate
On the copy – Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Ensure the blend mode on the copy of texture is still set to Luminance (Legacy)
Layers, Merge, Merge Down
Rename Frame

On the Frame layer
Selections, All, Modify, Contract by 2 pixels
Press delete
Selections, None

Add a new raster layer, move below Frame
Flood fill with a complimentary color
Selections, All Modify, Contract by 3 pixels
Press delete and selections, None
Activate Frame, Layers, Merge, Merge Down
Apply the following drop shadow
V&H: 0 / Opacity: 75 / Blur: 4.95 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Checked

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
At this point you can save as a jpg/png

To Animate:
Ensure layers Lines 3 and Lines 4 are still hidden
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Open Animation Shop (AS)
Edit, Paste as a new animation

Back to PSP
Hide Lines 2 and unhide Lines 3
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste after current frame

Back to PSP
Hide Lines 3 and unhide Lines 4
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste after current frame

Staying in AS
Edit, Select All
Animation, Frame Properties – set this to 20
Save as a .gif file
All Done 🙂
