Time For Spring

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X8 but any version will do
Image of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I use Impact, Master Of Break and Raisin des Sables
Eye Candy 3.1 – Glass
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

I used the awesome artwork of Dean Yeagle
You can purchase his work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Dean’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open your image of choice, press shift + D to duplicate and close the original
Select your text tool and choose a bold font – I used Impact
Set your foreground to a color of choice from your image, background set to null
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Stroke width set to 2
Type out ‘SPRING’ (all in caps)
Position over your image. stretch it out so it it’s almost as wide
You may want to drag it down a bit too

Convert your text to raster – rename Text Outer

Using your magic wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select inside each letter of your text
Selections, Modify, Expand by 1 pixel
Selections, Invert
Activate your image layer and press delete
Selections, None

Crop away all excess canvas
Image, Increase Canvas Size, you want to add 50 pixels to each side

At this point if you want a smaller tag, resize now, all layers checked
I resized to 400 pixels wide

Activate your Text Outer layer
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise
Random & Monochrome: Checked / Noise: 20%
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 1 / Opacity: 60 / Blur: 4.95 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Copy and paste an additional elements from your tube as a new layer
I used the butterfly
You will have to fiddle with the resize to get it the same size
I resized by 58%, all layers unchecked
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used
V: 1 / H: -4 / Opacity: 60 / Blur: 11.88 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Activate your image layer and duplicate
On the copy – Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Then Eye Candy 3.1 – Glass

Change the blend mode to Overlay
On the original – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5

Activate your top layer on the layer palette
Select your text tool again and choose a font – I used Master Of Break
Swap your foreground color the background
Turn off your foreground so only your background is on
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Type out ‘Time for’
Position along the top of your main text
When happy, convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 1 / Opacity: 60 / Blur: 3.96 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Select your text tool again and choose another font – I used Raisin des Sables
Keep your foreground on null, background set to another complimentary color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name
Position where it looks best and convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add the same drop shadow as just used

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 🙂
