Which Witch?

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Image & Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used KG Flavor And Frames Three, KG Black Space Sketch, KG Eyes Wide Open and Colleen
RD_MaskSet100_Mask6 by Rachel
MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Eye Candy 3.1 – Glass
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Melissa’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 400 x 400 and flood fill with Grey #AAAAAA
Select your text tool and choose KG Flavor And Frames Three
Set your foreground to null, Background set to white
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Type out the ‘m’ in lower case
Use the nodes to stretch it out a little
Objects, Align, Center in Canvas
Convert to Raster and rename Frame

Activate the grey background layer
Copy and paste your image as a new layer – rename Left Image
Position part with in the left section of the frame

Activate the Frame layer and select the Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select inside the left section of the frame
Selections, Modify, Expand by 3 pixels
Selections, Invert
Activate the Left Image layer and press Delete
Selections, None

Repeat the the right section using a different part of the image
Rename Right Image
Repeat for the center section, again using a different part of the image
Rename Center Image

With the Center Image your activate layer
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if required, I resized to 55%, all layers Unchecked
Position so it’s sitting nicely within and just above the center part of the frame

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 2 / H: 4 / Opacity: 54 / Blur: 9.90 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Select your selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Draw a selection round the top part of your tube that is covered by the frame
Note: Mine is a bit jaggy to include the sparkles, I also reduced the opacity of the frame so I could see the edge of the tube clearly

On your Tube layer, Selections, Promote Selection to Layer
On the original, press delete
Selections, None
Move the promoted layer above the Frame

Activate the Frame
Using your magic wand with the same settings as before, click outside the Frame
Selections, Modify, Expand by 3
Activate the Tube layer and press delete
Selections, None

Activate the Frame
Add the same drop shadow as used on the tube layer

Activate the Grey Backgorund layer
Copy and paste your Image as a new layer again
Effects, Plugins, MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Choose the Wallpaper Rotate, at the default settings
Effects, Art Media Effects, Brush Strokes

Crop the canvas to 400 x 400
Resize the brush layer to 75%, all layers unchecked
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for RD_MaskSet100_Mask6 or one of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all maked: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Duplicate and on the original
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 8

Activate Right Image
Add a new raster layer – name it Overlay
Selections, All, Modify, Contract by 100 pixels
Selections, Modify, Feather by 15 pixels
Copy and paste your image into the selection
Selections, None
Apply the same Gaussian Blur as used on the mask layer
Effects, Texture Effects, Mosaic – Antique

Activate the Frame layer
Click outside with your magic wand using the same settings as before
You will need to click again close to the frame

Selections, Modify, Expand by 3 pixels
On the Overlay layer – press delete
Selections, None
Change the blend mode to Overlay

Activate the Promoted layer – this should be your top layer
Select your text tool and choose a bold font – I used KG Black Space Sketch
Keep your foreground on null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both still checked
Type out your word of choice – I wrote ‘WHICH’
Position so it goes across the 3 frame sections

Change the blend mode to Overlay

Keeping your text tool active, choose a scripty style font – I used KG Eyes Wide Open
Keep your settings the same, but change the background color
Add the next part of your text – I wrote ‘witch?’
Convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add the same drop shadow
Image, Free Rotate, Left by 4 degrees
Position over the bottom left of the frame

Keep your text tool active and change your font – I used Colleen
Keep your settings the same, changing the backgroun if required
Add your name and position where it looks best
Image, Free Rotate, Left by 4 degrees
Convert to raster
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Effects, Plugins. Eye Candy 3.1 – Glass

Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Use the same settings as before, changing the glow color if required
Add the same drop shadow

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Delete the grey background layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 😀
