Fairy Tales

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used Oh Wonder and Streetlight
Xero – Porcelain
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Mask 16 by Millie
IB Amy Brown 116-2 by Foxys Designz

I used the awesome artwork of Amy Brown
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Amy’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 400 x 400 and flood fill with white
Open Element14 and resize to 350 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Doodle
Duplicate and on the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 3
On the original – Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise
Random & Monochrome: Checked / Noise: 65%
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 0 / H: 3 / Opacity: 70 / Blur: 5.94 / Color: #1B1B1B / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Open Element15
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Blur
Move below the 2 Doodle layer
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 30

Activate Copy of Doodle
Open Element9 and resize to 300 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Books
Position towards the base of the Doodle

Add the same drop shadow as used on the Doodle

Activate the white background layer
Open Frame3 and resize to 250 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Frame
Image, Free Rotate, Left 15 degrees
Position behind the books where it looks better

Grab your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select inside the Frame
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5 pixels
Add a new raster layer – name it Frame Back
Move below the Frame layer

Open a paper of choice – I used Paper4
Copy and paste into the selection
Selections, None
Lower the opacity to 50
Activate the Frame and add the same drop shadow as previously used

Activate the white background layer again
Open Paper3 and resize to 350 pixels
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Base Mask
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for MPM_Mask16 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Open Paper2 and resize to 350 pixels
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Base Mask 2
Apply the same mask with the same settings
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Change the blend mode to Overlay

Activate Frame Back
Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Activate Base Mask 2 and press delete
Activate Base Mask and press delete
Selections, None

Activate Books layer
Open Element12 and resize to 350 pixels
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Sparkles
Position where they look best
Add the same drop shadow

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if needed, I resized by 45%, all layers unchecked
Position sitting on the books
Duplicate and activate the original layer
Add the same drop shadow
On the copy – Effects, Plugins, Xero – Porcelain
Use the default settings
Adjust. Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 3
Lower the opacity to 50

Open Element17 and resize to 250 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Candle
Position on either side of the books
Add the same drop shadow

Activate Frame
Open Element11 and resize to 200 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Leaf
Position on the left side of the Frame behind the Candle
Add the same drop shadow

Activate the Candle layer again
Open Element3 and resize to 100 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Flower 1
Position in front of the books, overlapping the candlestick slightly

Add the same drop shadow

Open Element1 and resize to 100 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Flower 2
Image, Free Rotate, 45 degrees to the Right
Move below Flower 1
Position to the rigth side of Flower 1 so you can’t see the stem
Add the same drop shadow

Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Oh Wonder Regular
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your text of choice – I wrote ‘fairy tales’
Position where it looks best and convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Duplicate and on the original add the same drop shadow
Reduce the opacity to 75
On the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5
Layers, Merge, Merge Down
Rename WordArt

Choose another font, I used Streetlight
Keep your forground on null, background to another color of choice
All other settings the same
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, Convert to raster
Duplicate and on the original
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Still on this layer – Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise
Uniform & Monochrome: Checked / Noise: 25%
Activate the copy – Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Layers, Merge, Merge Down
Add the same drop shadow again

Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Delete the white background
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 🙂
