Adventures At Sea

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Australian Script
DSB Flux – Blast
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
BigMask019 by Vix
Sea Adventure kit by Gimptastic Scraps

I used the awesome artwork of Steve Baier

Please do not use Steve’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 400 x 400 and flood fill with grey #C0C0C0
Open Frame 2 and resize to 300 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Frame
Duplicate and on the copy – resize to 105%, all layers unchecked
Move the copy below the original

Working on the copy still
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 3
Effects, Plugins, DSB Flux – Blast
Direction: Left / Percentage: 7
Repeat the Blast BUT change the direction to Right

Activate Frame and select your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select inside the Frame
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5 pixels
Add a new raster layer – name it Frame Back
Position between the two frame layers
Open a paper of choice – I used Paper 3
Copy and paste into the selection
Selections, None

Activate Frame
Open Ele18 and resize to 200 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Post
Position on the left side of the frame
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 4 / H: 5 / Opacity: 66 / Blur: 12.87 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Open ele47 and resize to 200 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Wave
Position so it looks like it’s splashing up the side of the Post
Using your Selection Tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select the bottom part of the frame – don’t worry if you select into the post

Ensure you are on the Frame layer
Selections, Promote Selection to Layer
On the original Frame layer, press delete
Selections, None
On the Promoted Selection, rename Frame Top
Move above the Wave layer
Like I said don’t worry if it covers some of the post we will cover that
Erase any Wave that is outside the Frame
I selected the area to be deleted

Activate the Post layer
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if required, I resized by 75%, all layers unchecked
Position the tube where it looks best
Add the same drop shadow as used previously
Erase any tube that is outside the frame at the bottom

Activate Frame Top
Open Ele2 and resize to 150 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Shells 1
Position in front of the Post (this should cover any excess frame)
Add the same drop shadow

Open Ele33 and resize to 150 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Shells 2
Position in front to the right of the Shells 1
Add the same drop shadow

Open Ele5 and resize to 250 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Driftwood
Position along the base of the frame
Move below Shells 2 and add the same drop shadow

Open Ele13
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Rocks
Position on the right side of the Frame
Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom
Layers, Arrange, Move Up – this should now be just above the gray background layer
Add the same drop shadow

Activate the grey background layer
Add a new raster layer, Selections, All
Open a paper of choice – I used Paper 9
Copy and paste into the selection
Selections, None
Layers, Load/Save Mas, Load Mask from Disk
Look for Vix_BigMask019 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to canvas and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Duplicate the Mask layer
On the copy – Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Change the blend mode to Soft Light

Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Australian Script
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add the same drop shadow as used before

Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Delete the grey background layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 😀
