Color My World

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used Dulcelin, FFX Marquee and Bank Gothic Lite
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
DSB Flux – Bright Noise
Lokas Software – 3D Shadow
Gradient of choice
Mask 336 by Vix

I used the awesome artwork of Dean Yeagle
You can purchase his work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Dean’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 400 x 400 and flood fill with white
Select your preset shape tool with these settings:
Shape: Rectangle / Anti-Alias & Create as Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 10
Set your foreground to Black, background set to null
Draw a rectangle approx 150 w x 280 h
Objects, Align, Center in Canvas
Convert to raster

Add a new raster layer
Select your selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Draw a selection along the bottom of the rectangle

Ensure you are on the new layer and flood fill with Black
Selections, None

Duplicate this layer
Image, Flip
Hide the white background layer
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Rename Frame
Unhide the white background

Add a new raster layer – name it Frame Background
Move below the Frame layer
Select your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Activate the Frame layer and select inside
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5 pixels
Activate the Frame Back again
Flood fill with the gradient of choice with these settings:
Style: Linear / Angle: 45 / Repeats: 0 / Invert: Unchecked
Keep Selected

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Position within the Frame where it looks best
Selections, Invert and press delete on your tube layer
Selections, None
Change the blend mode of your Tube to Luminance (Legacy)

Activate the Frame layer and duplicate
Rename the copy – Top Frame
Rename the original – Bottom Frame
Working on Bottom Frame
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Effects, Plugins, DSB Flux – Bright Noise
Intensity: 33 / Mix: Click once
Effects, Plugins, DSB Flux – Bright Noise
Intensity: 45 / Mix: Click once again

Effects, Plugins, Lokas Software – 3D Shadow

Activate Top Frame
Select your Pen tool with these settings:
Mode: Draw lines & polylines / Create on Vector: Checked / Line style: Diamonds / Width: 2.00
Set your foreground to the same gradient as used before, with the same settings
Set your background to null
Holding down your Shift key and draw a vertical line from the top of the frame down to the bottom
When happy, convert to raster

Duplicate and then Image, Mirror
Then, Image, Flip
Reposition if needed
Layers, Merge, Merge Down
Rename Vert Diamonds

Select your Pen tool again
Use the same settings BUT change the width to 15.00
Holding your shift again, draw a horizontal line across in the top section of the frame
Objects, Align, Horizontal Center in Canvas
Convert to raster

Duplicate and then Image, Mirror
Then, Image, Flip
Reposition if needed
Layers, Merge, Merge Down
Rename Hori Diamonds

Duplicate Hori Diamonds, rename the copy Top Hori Diamonds
Working on the Top Hori Diamonds
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Effects, Plugins, DSB Flux – Bright Noise
Intensity: 20 / Mix: Click once
Effects, Plugins, DSB Flux – Bright Noise
Intensity: 35 / Mix: Click once again
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 0 / Opacity: 100 / Blur: 2 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Activate Hori Diamonds
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 10

Activate Top Hori Diamonds
Select your text tool and choose a script style font – I used Dulcelin
Set your foreground to null
Background set to the same gradient, with the same settings BUT check the Invert box checked
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Type out ‘world’
Image, Free Rotate, Left by 90 degrees
Position towards the top left of the frame
Convert to raster and rename World Text
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel
Use the same settings as used before
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Effects, Plugins, Lokas Software – 3D Shadow
Use the same settings as before

Select your text tool again and choose a bold style font – I used FFX Marquee
Keep your foreground on null, change your background to black
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both still checked
Type out ‘COLOR MY’
Image, Free Rotate, Left by 90 degrees
Position at the bottom of the frame before the world text
Convert to raster and rename Color My Text
Add the same Lokas Software – 3D Shadow

Activate the white background
Add a new raster layer
Set your foreground to the same gradient BUT change the angle to 135
Flood fill with the gradient
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for Vix_Mask336 or one of choice
Source Luminance / Fit to Layer / Hide all Mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Activate the top layer on your layer palette
Select your text tool and choose another font – I used Bank Gothic Lite
Keep your settings the same as previously BUT change the background to white
Add your name and position where it looks best
Convert to raster and rename Name
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 0 / H: -2 (minus 2) / Opacity: 100 / Blur: 2 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Delete the white background layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 😀
