Rainbow Fairy

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Image or Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used FFX Marquee
Grunge Texture of Choice – I used one by Skeelar-Stock
Stardust Texture of Choice – I used one by GalaxiesAndDust
WSL_Mask123 by Chelle

I used the awesome artwork of Molly Harrison
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Molly’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 400 x 400 and flood fill with white
Select your preset shape tool with these settings:
Shape: Ellipse / Anti-Alias & Create as Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 10.00
Set your foreground to a gradient of choice
Style: Linear / Angle: 90 / Repeats: 0 / Invert: unchecked
Holding your shift key draw a circle
Objects, Align, Center in Canvas
Do Not Convert To Raster

Duplicate and on the copy – Convert to Raster
Rename this layer Top Circle
On the original vector layer
Click the + on the layer palette
Right click on the indented layer and select Properties
Change the Stroke width to 14
Click on the Gradient and check the Invert box
Now Convert to Raster and rename Back Circle

Working on Back Circle
Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise
Gaussian & Monochrome: Checked / Noise: 25%

Activate Top Circle
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Add a new raster layer and name it Glass
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 6: Text Selection – Glass
Choose the Wide And Round preset, with these settings:

Change the blend mode to Screen

Activate Top Circle again
Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Add a new raster layer and name it Circle Texture
Copy and paste your Stardust Texture into selection
Change the blend mode to Overlay

Select your magic wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Activate Top Circle
Click inside with your magic wand
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5 pixels
Add a new raster later and flood fill with your gradient
Selections, None
Rename this layer Circle Back
Move below the Back Circle layer

Copy and paste your Tube or Image of choice as a new layer – rename Image
Activate Circle Back
Selections, All, Float, Defloat, Invert
Press delete on your Image layer
KEEP SELECTED

Selections, Invert again
Add a new raster layer, name it Stardust Texture
Copy and paste your Stardust Texture in the selection
KEEP SELECTED

Selections, Invert again
Open the Grunge Texture and resize by 65%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Grunge Texture
Position within the circle and press delete
Selections, None

Move the Grunge Texture below the Stardust Texture
Change the blend mode to Overlay
Reduce the opacity to about 59
On the Stardust Texture layer
Change the blend mode to Soft Light
Reduce the opacity to about 57

Activate the Image layer and duplicate
Move Copy of Image above Stardust Texture layer
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 10
Change the blend mode to Overlay
Reduce the opacity to about 81
On the original Image layer, change the blend mode to Luminance (Legacy)

Activate the white background layer
Add a new raster layer – name it Mask
Open Stardust Texture
Layers, Promote Background to Layer
Add a new raster layer and flood fill with the gradient
Move below the texture layer
Change the blend mode of the text to Luminance (legacy)
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged

Back to your main canvas
Activate the Mask layer
Selections, All – Edit, Paste into Selection
Selections, None
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for WSL_Mask123 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Activate Copy of Image
Select your pen tool with these settings:
Mode: Draw lines & polylines / Create on Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 50.00
Set your foreground to white, background to null
Hold your shift key and draw a horizontal line across your circle slightly wider than your circle
Position towards the bottom of the circle
Convert to raster and rename Stripe

Activate Back Circle and select inside with your magic wand (same settings as before)
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5 pixels
Selections, Invert
Activate the Stripe layer and press delete
Selections, None

With the Stripe layer still active
Reduce the opacity to about 50

Select your text tool and choose a font – I used FFX Marquee
Set your foreground to null, background set to white
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position within the stripe
Objects, Align, Horizontal Center in Canvas
When happy, Convert to raster
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 64 / Blur: 2.97 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Delete the white background layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 😀
