Wish Upon A Starfish

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used Soe & Unicorn Calligraphy
Mask005 by Me
Eye Candy 6: Text Selection – Glass & Corona

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 700 x 700 and flood fill with grey #C0C0C0
Open Ele32 and resize to 600 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Cluster
Move down slightly on the canvas
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 2 / H: -2 / Opacity: 28 / Blur: 7.92 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Open Ele20 and resize to 350 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Preserve
Image, Free Rotate, 90 Right
Move below the Cluser and position to the right side
Add the same drop shadow BUT change the H to -7

Open Ele6
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Water 1
Image, Mirror
Move below the Preserve
Position on the left side
Erase any water from the right side of the Preserve

Back to Ele6 and resize to 550 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Water 2
Position on the left side a little higher than the previous Water
Erase any water from the right side of the Preserve

Open Ele9 and resize to 250 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Wood
Position between the 2 water layers on the left side
Add the same drop shadow as used on the Preserve

Activate the Cluster
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if needed, I resized by 65%, all layers unchecked
Position where it looks best in front of the cluster
Add the same drop shadow

Using your Selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Or your Freehand Selection with these settings:
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Or a combination of the two
Select areas of your tube to go behind the Cluster

Selections, Promote Selection to layer
On the original, press delete
Selections, None
Move the promoted seletion below the cluster layer

Activate the grey background layer
Open a paper of choice – I used Paper4
Resize to 700 pixels
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Mask
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for JustFi_Mask005 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Resize by 85%, all layers unchecked
Position your mask where it looks best
Duplicate and on the copy – change the blend mode to Multiply

Select your preset shape tool with these settings:
Shape: Ellipse / Anti-Alias & Create as Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 8.00
Set yourground to a random color, background set to null
Draw an ellipse round your tag area

DO NOT CONVERT TO RASTER

Activate the top layer on your layer palette
Your vector shape should be above the mask layers at the bottom
Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Soe
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Position your mouse curser over the edge of the vector shape so you get a +A) or +T) type symbol
Click and add your text, I wrote ‘make a wish on a’
Position where it looks best on the vector shape

Delete the vector shape
On your text, convert to raster
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 6: Text Selection – Glass

Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 6: Text Selection – Corona

Use the same drop shadow as used previously

Still with your text tool, choose another font if required, I used Unicorn Calligraphy
Keep the settings the same, chaning the background color id required
Add your text, I wrote ‘Starfish’
Postion where it looks best and convert to raster
Add the same Inner Bevel, Eye Candy 6: Text Selection – Glass and Eye Candy 6: Text Selection – Corona
I changed the colors of my Corona to better suit my text color

Add the same drop shadow again

Delete the grey background layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Paste as a new layer – rename Blur
Enusre this is your top layer – Layers, Arrange, Send to Top

Image, Increase Canvas Size
Change the size to that of your desktop
The most common sizes are: 1366×768, 1600×900 and 1920×1080
Choose the central placement option

Working on the Blur layer
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 15
Change the blend mode to Overlay and reduce the opacity to 65

Add a new raster layer – name it BG
Selections, All
Open a paper of choice, I used Paper6
Copy and paste into selection
Selections, None
Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom

Activate the top layer again
Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 🙂
