Little Prick

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used Impact and Retro Repro JF
Eye Candy 3.1: Glass
LittlePrickText by Me

I used the awesome artwork of Elias Chatzoudis
You can purchase his work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Elias’ work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 500 x 500 and flood fill with grey #929292
Select your preset shape tool with these settings:
Shape: Ellipse / Anti-Alias & Create as Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 10.00
Set your foreground to white, background set to null
Hold your shift key and draw a circle
Object, Align, Center in Canvas
Rename Inner Circle

Still with your preset shape tool
Change your foreground to another color, any color, I used a pinkish/purple
Change the stroke width to 3
Draw another circle that is a little bit bigger than the Inner Circle

Do Not Convert To Raster

Select your text tool and choose a bold font – I used Impact
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Activate Inner Circle
Position your mouse cursor over the edge on the vector circle
You will get a symbol either +A) or +T)
Click and add your text of choice, I wrote IT’S ONLY A LITTLE PRICK!
Add your text so it goes round the whole circle, you many need to adjust the size of your text
I had my text size set to 46

Position where you want it round the circle
When happy, Convert to raster – rename Circle Text
You now delete the vector circle layer

Select your preset shape tool again
You want to use the original settings
Hold your shift key and draw a circle slightly larger than the text

Objects, Align, Center in Canvas
When happy with the size, Convert to raster
Rename Outer Circle

Hide your grey background and Circle Text layer
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible – rename Circles
Unhide your grey background and Circle Text layers now

Activate Circles and duplicate
On the copy – Adjust, Brightness and Contrast, Brightness/Contrast
Brightness: -255 / Contrast: 100 / Linear Mode: Checked
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 7
Move this layer below the original Circles layer
Rename Circles Shadow

Activate Circles layer
Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise
Gaussian: Checked / Noise: 50%
Add noise again with these settings:
Random: Checked / Noise: 30%
Again add noise, with these settings:
Gaussian: Checked / Noise: 70%

Select your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Click inside the gap between the two circles
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5 pixels
Add a new raster layer, name it Outer Circle Fill
Flood fill with a color of choice
Selections, None
Move below the Circles layer

Grab your magic wand, with the same settings
Activate the Circles layer
Click inside the center
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5 pixels
Add a new raster layer, name it Inner Circle Fill
Flood fill with a color of choice
Selections, None
Move below the Circles layer

Activate Inner Circle Fill
Open LittlePrickText Image
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Inner Circle Text
Activate Inner Circle Fill
Selections, All, Float, Defloat, Invert
Activate Inner Circle Text and press delete
Selections, None

Activate Circles
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if needed, I resized by 75%, all layers unchecked
Position where it looks best
Using you selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select the part of your tube that overlaps the bottom circles

Selections, Promote Selection to Layer
On the original tube layer, press delete
Selections, None
Move the Promoted Selection below the Circle Fill layer
Erase any excess tube from on and below the circles
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 2 / H: -7 / Opacity: 50 / Blur: 9.90 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Checked
Activate the original tube layer and add the same drop shadow
Clean up any stray shadow you can see

Activate Circle Text
Using your selection tool, with the same settings
Select some of the words
Selections, Promote Selection to Layer
Selections, None
On the original Circle Text, reduce the opacity to about 55
On the Promoted Selection
Adjust, Brightness and Contract, Brightness/Contrast
Brightness: 255 / Contrast: 100 / Linear Mode: Checked
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 1 / H: -1 / Opacity: 50 / Blur: 2 / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Activate Inner Circle Text and duplicate
Working on the copy – Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 3:1, Glass

Change the blend mode to Screen and reduce the opacity to about 63

Activate your Tube layer
Select your text tool again and choose a font – I used Retro Repro JF
Set your foreground and background to the same color
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Stroke width set to 1
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Duplicate and on the original
Adjust, Brightness and Contract, Brightness/Contrast
Brightness: 255 or-255 / Contrast: 100 / Linear Mode: Checked
The brightness setting will depend on whether you want a black or white shadow
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 2

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Delete the grey background layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 😀
