Love Of Butterflies

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used Nutmeg and SoFoxy
AoRK-Mask-32 by Rene Kunert

I used the awesome artwork of Colourbelle
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Karen’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 450 x 450 and flood fill with white
Select your preset shape tool with these settings:
Shape: Ellipse / Anti-Alias & Create as Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 5.00
Set your foreground to a color of choice, background set to null
Draw an ellipse
Objects, Align, Center in Canvas
Duplicate and hide the original – Leaving as vector
On the copy, convert to raster and rename Frame

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if required, I resized by 65%, all layers unchecked
Move below the Frame layer
Position so the focal part is inside the frame
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 3 / H: -5 / Opacity: 50 / Blur: 7.92 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Using your freehand selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select any parts of the tube you want in front of the frame

Ensure you are on the tube layer – Selection, Promote Selection to Layer
On the original tube layer, press delete
Selections, None
On the Promoted Selection – rename Top Tube
Move this layer above the Frame
Erase any original tube that is outside the frame that you don’t want

Select your pen tool with these settings:
Mode: Draw lines & polylines / Create on Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 26.00
Set your foreground to a color of choice, background set to null
Draw a line on the left side of the frame

Keeping your pen tool active
Change the foreground color and the width, draw some more random lines

When happy, convert to raster – rename Lines
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 2 / H: -2 / Opacity: 30 / Blur: 7.92 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Duplicate the Lines layer
On the copy – Effects, Image Effects, Offset
You will have to adjust the Horizontal Offset depending on how long your lines are
Don’t worry about how far inside the frame it is

Layers, Merge, Merge Down
Move Lines below your Tube layer

Activate the Frame layer
Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise
Gaussian & Monochrome: Checked / Noise: 10%
Duplicate the frame and on the original
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Use a darker shade of your frame color

Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 3

Activate the Copy of Frame
Select inside with your magic wand, with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Selections, Modify, Expand by 3 pixels
Add a new raster layer – rename Frame Fill
Flood fill with a complimentary color of choice
Selections, None
Move this layer below the Lines layer

Activate the white background layer
Add a new raster layer – rename Mask
Flood fill with a complimentary color of choice
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for AoRK-Mask-32 or one of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, merge, merge Group
Resize by 80%, all layers unchecked
Duplicate and on the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5
*Optional* Erase any of the masks that are below the frame

Activate Frame Fill
Select your pen tool again with the same settings but set the stroke to 50
Set your foreground to a random color
Draw a vertical line taller than your frame- Objects, Align, Center in Canvas
Convert to raster
Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Selections, Modify, Feather by 25 pixels
Activate Frame Fill
Effects, Texture Effects, Weave
Set the color to one of choice

Delete the vertical line now

Unhide the original vector ellipse we drew
Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Nutmeg
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Activate Copy of Frame
Place your cursor over the edge of the vector shape so you get a +A) or +T) symbol
Click and add your text of choice
When happy, convert to raster
Add an Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow of choice

Add the same drop shadow as used on the Lines layer
Delete the vector shape layer

Select your text tool again and choose another font – I used So Foxy
Keep your settings the same, changing the background color if required
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Apply the same Gradient Glow, changing the color if needed
Add the same drop shadow as used on the previous text layer

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Delete the white background layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 😀
