Kiss Of Winter

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Candle Mustard
Eye Candy 5: Nature – Snow Drift
Xero – Porcelain
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Mask 008 by Me
Snow Scene Image of Choice – I used this one {here}

I used the awesome artwork of PinUp Toons
I purchased this when Rion was signed with CILM, you can now purchase his work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Rion’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 600 x 600 and flood fill with grey #929292
Select your preset shape tool with these settings:
Shape: Rectangle / Anti-Alias & Create as Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 10.00
Set your foreground to white, background set to null
Draw a square about 180 x 180
Objects, Align, Center in Canvas
Convert to raster
Duplicate and rename the original 1 and the copy 2

Select your pen tool with these settings:
Mode: Draw lines & polylines / Create on Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 10.00
Keep your foreground set to white, background set to null
Hold your shift key and draw a vertical line taller than your square

Objects, Align, Center in Canvas
Convert to raster and rename V1
Now draw a horizontal line, wider than your canvas, with the same settings
Objects, Align , Center in Canvas
Convert to raster and rename H1
With H1 active – Layers, Merge, Merge Down
Rename X and duplicate

Working on X
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 5: Nature – Snow Drift

Activate 2 and select your magic wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select outside 2
Selections, Modify, Expand by 4 pixels
Activate X and press delete
Activate Copy of X and press delete
Selections, None
Move X and Copy of X between layers 1 and 2
Ensure Copy of X is above X

Activate 1
Repeat the Snow Drift with the same settings
Activate 2 again and select outside with your Magic Wand (same settings)
Selections, Modify, Expand by 4 pixels
Activate 1 and press delete
Selections, None
Hide the grey background
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Rename Window
Unhide the grey background

Activate the grey background layer
Copy and paste your Snow Scene of choice as a new layer – rename Snow Scene
Resize if needed, I downloaded the small one so I didn’t need to resize
Position where it looks best within your window

Activate the Window and select outside with your Magic Wand (same settings)
Selections, Modify, Expand by 4 pixels
Activate your Snow Scene and press delete
Selections, Invert
Activate the grey background layer
Selections, Promote Selection to Layer
Selections, None

Activate the Promoted Selection – rename Scene Back
Using your Manual Color Correction tool (mini tut here)
Change to a blueish tone – I used #2C4546
On the Snow Scene layer, change the blend mode to Luminance (Legacy)
Still on the Snow Scene
Effects, Plugins, Xero – Porcelain
Use the default settings

Activate the Window
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 2 / H: 3 / Opacity: 42 / Blur: 4.95 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if needed, I resized by 60%, all layers unchecked
Position where it looks best
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 2 / H: 5 / Opacity: 42 / Blur: 4.95 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Checked
Activate the Tube again
Add the same drop shadow BUT change the H to -3
With the top shadow active – Layers, Merge, Merge Down

Hide the grey background
Select your Crop tool and select Merged Opaque

Now increase your canvas size so you have 50 pixels on each side

Select your text tool and choose a pixel font – I used FFF Games
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector: Checked
Anti-Alias: Off
Size: 8
Add your text and repeat so it covers the whole canvas
Objects, Align, Center in Canvas and then Convert to raster – rename Mask
Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom
Crop to Merged Opaque again

With your Mask layer activate
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for JustFi_Mask008 or a mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer, Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Apply the mask again with the same settings
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 0 / H: 2 / Opacity: 29 / Blur: 1.98 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Activate your Tube
Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Candle Mustard
Set your foreground to null and your background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy with the size and placement, convert to raster
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 0 / H: 5 / Opacity: 34 / Blur: 3.96 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 🙂

This is the original tag I made using Cuddly Rigor Mortis, who is also licensed through CDO, you can find this tube {here}. Although I originally purchased this tube when Kirsten was with CILM. Font used on this one is Quite Good.
