Sleeps Till Christmas

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Romantic Couple
IC Net Software, Filters Unlimited 2 – Color Filters
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Christmas Mask 13 by Karma
Maryline Cazenave Tube/Scrap Bundle pkg 87 by LHD Scraps

I used the awesome artwork of Maryline Cazenave

Please do not use Maryline’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 450 x 450 and flood fill with grey #929292
Open Frame 2 and resize to 275 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Frame
Image, Free Rotate, 18 degrees to the Right
Move to the right a little

Open Ele35
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Green Tree
Move below the Frame
Position so just part of the tree is inside the right side of the frame

Duplicate and on the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5
Lower the opacity to about 59

Open Ele20
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Snow
Now grab your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Activate the Frame and click inside it
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5 pixels
Add a new raster layer – name it Frame Back
Move this layer above the grey Background layer
Open a paper of choice – I used Paper5
Copy and paste into selection
Keep Selected

Selections, Invert
Activate Green Tree and press delete
Now press delete on Copy of Green Tree and Snow layers
Selections, None
Activate Green Tree and add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 6 / H: -7 / Opacity: 37 / Blur: 7.92 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Activate the Grey Background layer
Open Ele11
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Star 1
Image, Flip
Position on the left behind the Frame

Duplicate and rename the copy Star 2
Image, Mirror, then resize by 65%, all layers unchecked
Add the same drop shadow as used on Green Tree to both Star 1 and Star 2 layers

Activate Copy of Green Tree
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Base Tube
Position where it looks best in the frame, it doesn’t matter if some of the tube is outside the frame
Resize if needed, I resized by 60%, all layers unchecked
Duplicate the tube and rename the copy Main Tube

Working on Main Tube
Effects, Plugins, IC Net Software, Filters Unlimited 2 – Color Filters
Then choose Sepia at the default settings

Hide your Snow layer
Select your Freehand Selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select part of your tube you want the original color, I selected the beak

Selections, Modify, Feather by 1 pixel
On Base Tube – Selections, Promote Selection to Layer
Selections, None
Move the Promoted Selection above Main Tube
You can now delete the Base Tube layer
Activate Main Tube and add the same drop shadow

Erase any of the Main Tube that is outside the Frame
Activate the Frame and add the same drop shadow again
Unhide the Snow layer now

With the Frame the active layer
Open Ele24 and resize to 300 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename White Tree
Position on the left of the Frame
Duplicate and on the original, add the same drop shadow
On the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 4
Change the blend mode to Hard Light

Open Ele12 and resize to 65%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Snowman
Position on the right side of the White Tree
Add the same drop shadow

Open Ele13 and resize to 45%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Sack
Position on the right side of the Frame
Duplicate and on the original, add the same drop shadow
On the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 4
Change the blend mode to Multiply

If you can see any of either of the Star layers below where the bottom line of your tag is
Erase them now
I selected the area to be deleted in the screen shot

Activate the Grey Background layer
Add a new raster layer – rename it Mask
Selections, All
Open a paper of choice – I used Paper4
Copy and paste into the selection
Selections, None
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for Karmalized_Mask-Christmas-13 or one of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Duplicate and on the copy – Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Change the blend mode to Soft Light

Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Romantic Couple
Set your foreground and background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Stroke width set to 1
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 2/ H: -3 / Opacity: 37 / Blur: 7.92 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Add your artist copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Delete the grey background layer
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 🙂
