Chasing

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Falling Slowly
PhotoEffx – Scanlines
Xero – Porcelain
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

I used the awesome artwork of ColourBelle
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Karen’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 600 x 200 and flood fill with white
Add a new raster layer – name it Color
Using your selection tool with these settings
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select part of the canvas and flood fill with a color of choice
Selections, None
Now select another part and flood fill with another color
Selections, None
Keep repeating until the whole canvas is filled

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Position where it looks best
Duplicate and on the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 10
Change the blend mode to Soft Light
On the original Tube layer, add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 2 / H: 4 / Opacity: 66 / Blur: 14.85 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Paste as a new layer – rename Flat
Make this the top layer – Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Effects, Plugins, PhotoEffx – Scanlines

Repeat the scanlines with the same settings BUT check the Vertical Toggle box
Now reduce the opacity of this layer to 46

Select your Selection tool again, with the same settings
Select one of your color blocks
On the Flat layer, press delete
Keep Selected
Activate the Color layer
Effects, Texture Effects, Weave
Use a complimentary color for your weave colors

Selections, None

With your selection again, select another color block
On the Flat layer, press delete
Keep Selected
Activate Color layer
Effects, Texture Effects, Blinds
Again choose a complimentary color for the blinds

Selections, None

Activate the Flat layer again
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Paste as a new layer – rename Blur
Effects, Plugins, Xero – Porcelain
Use the default settings
Repeat the Porcelain with the same settings
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 10
Change the blend mode to Soft Light

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Selections, All
Selections, Contract by 10 pixels
Selections, Invert
Effects, Art Media Effects, Brush Strokes

Repeat the Brush Strokes again with the same settings
Keep Selected

Add a new raster layer – name it Frame
Selections, Invert
Flood fill with a color of choice
Selections, Modify, Contract by 1 pixel and press delete
Selections, None

Add another new layer – rename Frame 2
Flood fill with the same color again
Selections, All, Contract by 1 pixel and press delete
Selections, None
Ensure Frame 2 is above Frame
With Frame 2 active – Layers, Merge, Merge Down

Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Falling Slowly
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Choose complimentary colors

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 66 / Blur: 3.96 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 😀
