Fly Away

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Melonade
MuRa’s Meister – Tone
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
IB MartinAbel 50-3 kit by Karmalized Scraps

I used the awesome artwork of Martin Abel
You can purchase his work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Martin’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 400 x 400 and flood fill with white
Open Frame_01 and resize to 325 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Base Frame
Open Frame_03 and resize to 300 pixels wide
Copy and paate as a new layer – Frame
This should sit snuggly round the circle in the middle of Base Frame
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 1 / Opacity: 37 / Blur: 2.97 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Activate Base Frame
Open Element_26
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Sparkles
Position the top left side swirl around the top left of the Frame
Erase any excess, I selected the area to be deleted

Duplicate and then, Image, Mirror, Image, Flip
With the copy active – Layers, Arrange, Merge Down
Using your Manual Color Correction tool (mini tut here)
Recolor to a blue shade

Add the same drop shadow
Move this layer between Base Frame and Frame

Activate the Base Frame and select your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select inside the middle of the base frame
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5 pixels
Add a new raster layer, name it Frame Back
Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection – I used: Paper_05
Selections, None
Position the Frame back between Base Frame and Sparkles

Open Element_10 and resize to 55%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Cluster
Position on the right side of the Frame, with the owl part outside the frame
Add the same drop shadow
Activate Frame Back – Selections, All, Float, Defloat, Invert
Activate Cluster and press delete
Selections, None

Open Element_08 and resize to 55%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Flowers
Position along the base of the frame, where it looks best
Add the same drop shadow
Erase any Flowers that are outside the frame using the same method as used to erase the Cluster

Open Element_05 and resize to 55%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Feather
Position on the left side of the frame, with just some inside the frame
Add the same drop shadow
Erase any feather that is outside the frame, using the same method as before
Move the Feather below the Cluster layer

Activate Flowers
Open Element_11 and resize to 15%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Heart
Position where it looks best
Select your paintbrush tool with these settings:
Shape: Round / Size: 10 / Hardness, Density, Thickness and Opacity: 100 / Step: 1 / Rotation: 0 / Blend mode: Normal
Set your foreground to #F1F0EB
Carefully zoom in and paint over the holes in the heart button
Add the same drop shadow

Activate Frame
Open Element_09 and resize to 55%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Ribbon
Position along the top of the Frame
Add the same drop shadow

Activate the Feather layer
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if needed, I resized to 65%
Position within the frame where it looks best
Change the blend mode to Luminance (Legacy)
Duplicate and on the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 10
Reduce the opacity to 32
On the original layer, add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 1 / H: 7 / Opacity: 37 / Blur: 7.92 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked
Erase any of both tube layers that are outside the frame, using the same method as used earlier

Activate Copy of Tube
Add a new raster layer – name it Tone
Effects, Plugins, MuRa’s Meister – Tone
Use a complimentary color

Change the blend mode to Soft Light
Erase any tone from outside the frame using the same method as before

Delete the Base Frame and white background layers
Crop away any excess canvas
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Edit, Paste as a new layer – rename Top
Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Increase the canvas size to 450 x 450, central placement selected
Working on the Top layer
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 10
Change the blend mode to Soft Light
Reduce the opacity to 65

Select your text tool and choose a font – I used: Melonade
Set your foreground and background the same color
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Stroke width set to 1
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Effects, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add the same drop shadow as used on the elements

Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done 🙂
