Birds & Butterflies

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Image of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Manstro Brush Style
MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Filters Unlimited – Paper Textures
Distort – Ripple
Tramages – Tow The Line
AAA Frames – Foto Frame
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

I used the awesome artwork of Carla Secco
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Carla’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 851 x 315 and flood fill with white
Copy and paste your image as a new layer
Effects, Plugins, MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Choose the Wallpaper at the default settings
Note: You may have to click Undo and redo it a couple of times to get a look you are happy with

Rename Base

Grab your selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select one of the sections

Selections, Promote Selection to Layer – rename Brush
Effects, Art Media Effects, Brush Stroke

Change the blend mode to Multiply or a mode of choice

Activate Base again
Select another section of choice
Selections, Promote Selection to Layer – rename Paper
Effects, Plugins, <I.C.Net Software>, Filters Unlimited – Paper Textures
Choose a texture of choice, I used Striped Paper, Coarse

Change the blend mode to Overlay or a mode of choice

Activate Base and duplicate
On the copy – Adjust, Blur, Motion Blur

Effects, Plugins, Distort – Ripple

Copy and paste your image as a new layer – rename Top Image
Position in the middle of the canvas where it looks best
Crop the canvas back to 815 x 315
Duplicate your Top Image
On the Copy of Top Image – Effects, Plugins, Tramages – Tow The Line

Change the blend mode to Overlay and reduce the opacity to 28

Still on Copy of Top Image
Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Effects, Plugins, AAA Frames – Foto Frame

Activate Top Image
Apply the same Foto Frame to this layer too
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used;
V: 0 / H: 20 / Opacity: 63 / Blur: 6.93 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Activate the Paper layer
Select your Pen tool with these settings:
Mode: Draw lines & polylines / Create on Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 5.00
Set your foreground to a color of choice, background set to null
Draw a line along any harsh edges on your tag

Convert to raster and add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 63 / Blur: 6.93 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

*Optional*
Select part of your Image using your freehand selection tool, with these settings
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Copy and paste as a new image
Selections, All, Float, Defloat,
Selections, Modify, Feather by 2 pixels and press delete
Copy and paste as a new layer on your canvas – rename Extras
Ensure this layer is below Top Image

Hide Top Image and Copy of Top Image
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Edit, Paste as a new layer – rename Main
Ensure this layer is directly below your Top Image layer
Effects, Plugins, AAA Frames – Foto Frame

Activate Top Image and apply the same Foto Frame
Activate Copy of Top Image and apply the same Foto Frame again

Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Manstro Brush Style
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Position where it looks best and convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Add the same drop shadow as used on the line (V&H: 2 / Opacity: 63 / Blur: 6.93 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked)

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Save as a jpg/png

 

To Create A Circle Avatar
Press Shift + D to duplicate your timeline
Minimise or close the original
On the copy – Select your Crop tool and set the W and H to 180

Position the crop square where you want the avatar

Click Apply and crop
If you set your crop tool near an edge, delete the Main layer as it has the frame on it
Now Merge Visible the layers – Layers, Merge, Merge Visible

Pull the corners out, so you have some space round the image

Select your preset shape tool with these settings:
Shape: Ellipse / Anti-Alias & Create as Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 5.00
Set your foreground to a color of choice, Background set to null
Draw a circle, thats touching the edges all the way round

Convert to raster and rename Frame

Working on the Frame
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel
Use the same settings as used before

Grab your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select inside the Frame
Selections, Modify, Expand by 3 pixels
Selections, Invert
Activate the Merged layer and press delete
Selections, None
Activate the Frame and add the same drop shadow as used on your name

Select your text tool, with the same settings as used on the timeline
Add your Initial and position where you want it
Add the same Gradient Glow, Inner Bevel and Drop Shadow
Add your artists copyrights and your own tagger watermark as a new layer
Save as a png
All Done
