Beach Waves

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Sand Beach
Xero – Softmood
Mask025 by Karma
IB-CartoonPink-18-3 by KizzedByKelz

I used the awesome artwork of Cartoon Pink
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Amy’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 600 x 600 and flood fill with white
Open Elements (6), copy and paste as a new layer – rename Top Sand
Duplicate and rename the copy Bottom Sand
Move up on the canvas a little, then move the layer below Top Sand on your layer palette

Open Elements (10), copy and paste as a new layer – rename Waves 1
Position along the base of the sand layer, overlapping a little
Carefully erase any sand you can see through the Waves

Open Elements (9) and resize to 150 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Shells 1
Position on the left side between the two sand layers you want it to look like it’s partially buried
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 1 / H: 5 / Opacity: 39 / Blur: 6.93 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Open Elements (5) and resize to 210 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Castle
Position on the right, again between the two sand layers
Add the same drop shadow

Open Wordart and resize to 150 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Sign
Position the top part of the sign in front of the castle, again slightly buried
Add the same drop shadow
Now erase any of the stick from the sign you can see through the Waves or below

Open Elements (4) and resize to 120 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Shell 2
Position in front of Shell 1 where it looks best
Add the same drop shadow

Activate Top Sand
Open Elements (16) and resize to 210 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Rope
Position along the base of the Castle and Sign layers, partially hidden by the Waves
Add the same drop shadow

Activate the Waves layer
Open Elements (8) and resize to 200 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Splash 1
Position on the left side of the Waves
Duplicate and rename Splash 2, move towards the middle of the Waves
Duplicate and rename Splash 3, move towards the right end of the Waves

Activate the Waves again
Duplicate and renames Waves 2
Move down slightly
Activate Waves
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if needed, I resized to 65%, all layers unchecked
Position where it looks best, between the two wave layer
Add the same drop shadow
Now erase any tube you can see through the waves and below

Open a paper of choice – I used Papers (9)
Resize to 600 pixels
Activate your white background layer
Copy and paste the paper as a new layer – rename Mask 1
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for Karmalized_Mask025 or one of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Resize to between 75-85%, all layers unchecked

Copy and paste the paper as a new layer again
Image, Flip
Apply the same mask with the same settings
Layers, Merge, Merge Group – rename Mask 2
Resize to the same size as Mask 1
Now erase any of Mask 2 that is above the main tag area
Erase any of Mask 1 that is below the main tag area

Hide the white background
Crop away all excess canvas
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Paste as a new layer – rename SoftMood
Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Increase the canvas size to 600 x 600, central placement selected
Working on Soft Mood
Effects, Plugins, Xero – SoftMood

Change the blend mode to Soft Light

Select your text tool and choose a font – I used SandBeach
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, Convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 1 / Opacity: 70 / Blur: 4.95 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Add your artists copyright, scrap credits and your own tagger watermark as a new layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done
