The Swing

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Aurellia Script
Photo Effex – Scanlines
Xero – Alienmist
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

I used the awesome artwork of Alena Lazareva
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Alena’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 600 x 200 and flood fill with a light color of choice – rename BG 1
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Position on the left side of the canvas
Duplicate and rename Tube 2
Working on Tube 2 – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5
Change the blend mode to Overlay and reduce the opacity to 55

Copy and paste your tube again as a new layer – rename Tube 3
Position the roses on the rope, overlapping the rope on Tube 1

Erase any part of Tube 3 that is visible except the roses

Copy and paste your tube again as a new layer – rename Tube 4
Position more of the roses on the rope with the previous ones
Move down below Tube 1 on your layer palette

Again erase any part of Tube 4 apart from the roses

Activate Tube 1 and duplicate – rename the copy Tube 5
Image, Mirror
Position where it looks best on the side
Change the blend mode to Luminance (Legacy) and reduce the opacity to 46

Grab your Selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select the area to the left of the roses

Add a new raster layer and flood fill with a complimentary color of choice – rename BG 2
Selections, None
I lowered the opacity of this layer to 61
Play about until you get a look you are happy with

Once happy add the following drop shadow to Tube 1, Tube 3 and Tube 4
V: 2 / H: 6 / Opacity: 48 / Blur: 8.91 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Activate Tube 3, which should be the top layer
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Paste as a new layer – rename Scanlines
Effects, Plugins, Photo Effex – Scanlines

Change the blend mode to Soft Light and reduce the opacity to 63

Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Paste as a new layer – rename Mist
Effects, Plugins, Xero – Alienmist

Change the blend mode to Overlay

Crop the canvas to 600 x 200
Image, Increase Canvas Size to 616 x 216, central placement selected

Grab your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select the area we just added

Add a new raster layer – name it Frame
Flood fill with a dark color of choice
Selections, None

Image, Increase Canvas Size to 640 x 240, central placement selected
Select the empyy area again and ensure you are still on the Frame layer
Flood fill with white
Keep Selected
Grab your Magic Wand and select the color part of the frame as well as the white

Effects, Art Media Effects, Brush Strokes

Selections, None

Add a new raster layer – name it Bottom
Flood fill with your dark color from your frame
Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom

Activate the Frame layer
Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Aurellia Script
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, Convert to raster
Duplicate and working on the original
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 2
On the copy, apply a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 30 / Blur: 1.98 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Add your artist copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Save as jpg/png
All Done
