Mermaids Cove

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Schuyler Script
Xero – Soft Vignette
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Miz_Mask_159 by Mizteeque
BD Mask Set 6-47 by BrutalDesigns
IB_ChristineKotlark_June 2019 kit by Karmalized Scraps

I used the awesome artwork of Elias Chatzouds
You can purchase his work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Elias’ work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 500 x 500 and flood fill with white
Open Element (21) and resize to 425 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Rocks
Open Element (29) and resize to 450 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Sand
Move below the Rocks layer and position so you can see it above the rocks

Duplicate and Image, Flip
Line the copy up with the previous layer
Layers, Merge, Merge Down

Grab your Freehand Selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Draw a selection round the ends that poke out from the Rocks

Selections, Modify, Feather by 10 pixels
Ensure you are on the Sand layer and press delete a couple of times
This will soften the edges of the sand

Activate the Rocks layer
Open Element (7) and resize to 400 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Cluster
Erase any bubbles you don’t want, I selected the ones to be deleted

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 2 / H: 4 / Opacity: 40 / Blur: 9.90 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Bottom Tube
Resize if needed, I resized to 75%, all layers Unchecked
Move below the Cluster layer
Position in front of the rocks, we are going to make it appear to be going through the hole
Add the same drop shadow as used on the Cluster
Duplicate and rename Top Tube
Move Bottom Tube below the Rocks
Activate Top Tube and grab your selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Lower the opacity of Top Tube and select the area to be deleted – you want any part of the tube that covers the right side of the Rocks

Press Delete on Top Tube
Selections, Invert and activate Bottom Tube – press delete
Selections, None
Put the opacity on Top Tube back to 100%

Open Element (2) and resize to 20%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Bottle
Position where it looks best
Add the same drop shadow as used on the Tube

Activate the Sand layer
Open Element (26) and resize to 350 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Tree
Position where it looks best behind the main part of your tag
Duplicate and on the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 3
Change the blend mode to Overlay and reduce the opacity to 57
On the original – apply the same drop shadow
Erase any of the tree trunk you can see below the sand

Open Element (4)
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Pink Flower
Position on the left behind the Rocks
You only want a little bit showing

Add the same drop shadow
Erase any of the flower and/or stem you can see below the rocks/sand

Open Element (5)
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Pink Flower 2
Move down below Pink Flower and Tree
Position between the two of them
Add the same drop shadow
Erase any of the flower you can see below the rocks/sand

Activate Rocks
Open Element (10) and resize to 125 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Balls
Position on either the left or right side of your Tube, whichever looks best
Add the same drop shadow

Open Spray (1) and resize to 350 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Sparkles
Position where you want it
Duplicate and Image, Mirror – repositioning if needed

Activate the white background layer
Open a paper of choice – I used Paper (3)
Resize to 500 pixels
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Mask
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for Miz_Mask_159 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Resize to 95%, all layers unchecked
Move over the the left a little
Duplicate your Mask and Image, Mirror
With the Copy of Mask active – Layers, Merge, Merge Down

Open another paper of choice – I used Paper (6)
Resize to 500 pixels
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Mask
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for BD Mask Set 6-47 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Change the blend mode to Multiply
Resize to 90%, all layers unchecked

Hide the white background and activate Cluster – which should be your top layer
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible to a New Layer
Increase the canvas size 600 x 600, central placement selected
On the Merged layer – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 9
Effects, Plugins, Xero – Soft Vignette

Repeat the Soft Vignette with the same settings
Change the blend mode to Overlay and reduce the opacity to 48

Crop away any excess canvas
Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Schuyler Script
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 28 / Blur: 9.90 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own tagger watermark as a new layer
Save as a jpg/png
All Done
