Summer State Of Mind

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Mona Lite
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Mask 370 by Vix
IB KeithGarvey 281-1 kit by Gimptastic Scraps

I used the awesome artwork of Keith Garvey
You can purchase his work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Keith’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 600 x 600 and flood fill with grey #7A7A7A
Open Frame2 and resize to 450 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Frame
Grab your magic wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select inside the middle of the Frame
Selections, Modify, Expand by 10 pixels
Add a new raster layer – name it Frame Fill
Open a paper of choice – I used Paper1
Copy and paste into the selection
Keep Selected
Open Ele21, copy and paste as a new layer – rename Coral
Position towards the bottom of the Frame
Selections, Invert
Press delete on both the Frame Fill and Coral layers
Selections, None

Activate Frame Fill and duplicate
On the copy, change the blend mode to Multiply
On the Coral layer, change the blend mode to Luminance (Legacy)
With the Coral still active, add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: -3 / H: 6 / Opacity: 44 / Blur: 8.91 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked
Add the same drop shadow to the Frame

Ensure the Frame is the active and top layer
Open Ele11 and resize to 75%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Tree
Position on the left side of the Frame
Add the same drop shadow

Open Ele22 and resize to 50%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Buoy
Position on the top right of the Frame
Add the same drop shadow

Open Ele25
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Base
Position along the base of the Frame
Add the same drop shadow

Open Ele13 and resize to 55%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Sand Castle
Position on the bottom right of the Frame, overlapping the base
Add the same drop shadow
Erase any part of the base you can see to side of the Sand Castle
I selected the area to be deleted

Open Ele5 and resize to 75%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Palm
Position on the left, so it’s standing on the Base layer
Add the same drop shadow

Open Ele20 and resize to 35%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Shell
Position to the right of the Palm
Move below the Palm layer and hide part of the Shell
Add the same drop shadow

Activate the Sand Castle
Open Ele24 and resize to 35%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Star Fish
Position at the base of the Sand Castle
Add the same drop shadow

Open Ele17 and resize to 35%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Balls
Position at the base of the Palm
Grab your selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select any leaf of the palm that is covering the balls

Activate Palm – Selections, Promote Selection to Layer
On the original, press delete
Selections, None
Move the Promoted Selection above the Balls layer
Activate the Balls and add the same drop shadow

Open Ele15 and resize to 45%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Bird
Position where it looks best, I placed mine on the Buoy
Add the same drop shadow

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if required, I resized by 70%, all layers unchecked
Move your tube so it’s below the Palm layer
Add the same drop shadow to your tube

Activate the grey background layer
Open a paper of choice – I used Paper6
Resize to 600 pixels
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Mask
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for Vix_Mask370 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Resize by 95%, all layers unchecked
Duplicate the mask layer – Image, Mirror

Delete the grey background layer
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible to a New Layer
Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
On the Merged layer – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 10
Change the blend mode to Overlay and reduce the opacity to 70

Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Mona Lite
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Effects, 3D Effects , Inner Bevel

Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise
Gaussian & Monochrome: Checked / Noise: 15%
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: -3 / H: 3 / Opacity: 44 / Blur: 2.97 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done
