Beach Party

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Hysteria
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Eye Candy 6: Text Selection – Perspective Shadow
RD Mask 822 by Rachel
Beach Party kit by Foxys Designz

I used the awesome artwork of Martin Abel, I purchased this when Martin was with CILM (now closed)
You can now purchase his work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Martin’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 650 x 650 and flood fill with white
Open Frame2 and resize to 500 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Frame
Image, Free Rotate, 90 degrees to the left
Open Paper13 and resize to 650 pixels
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Frame Fill
Move below the Frame layer
Position so the sky part of the paper fills the frame
Activate the Frame and grab your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select inside the 2 sections of the frame
Selections, Modify, Expand by 5 pixels
Selections, Invert
Activate the Frame Fill and press delete
Selections, None

Open Element40, copy and paste as a new layer – rename Waves
Image, Mirror
Position within the Frame, so it’s covering the bottom part of Frame Fill

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 0 / H: 4 / Opacity: 62 / Blur: 20.79 / Color: Blue (#126170) / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked
Activate Frame Fill, Selections, All, Float, Defloat, Invert
Activate Waves again and press delete
Selections, None
Activate the Frame and add the same drop shadow BUT change the color to Black

Activate the white background layer
Open Element44, copy and paste as a new layer – rename Sun
Position behind the frame on the right side where it looks best
Duplicate and on the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 7
On the original, add the same drop shadow BUT reduce the opacity to 40

Activate the Frame
Open Element62 and resize to 75%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Tree
Position so the base of the tree is to the right of the middle

Add the same drop shadow BUT put the opacity up to 62 and reduce the blur to 11.88

Open Element70 and resize to 525 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Sand
Position along the bottom of the Frame
Duplicate and on the copy – Image, Flip
Move the copy below the original sand layer
Position under the original sand layer

Activate the original Sand layer, carefully erase the light edge you can see
I selected the area to be deleted

Layers, Merge, Merge Down – rename Sand if needed

Open Element24 and resize to 55%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Buoy
Position on the left, so it looks like its hanging from the screw/nail in the frame
Add the same drop shadow as used on the Tree

Open WordArt2 and resize to 550 pixels wide
Select your freehand selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Draw around the word Beach

Copy and paste as a new layer – rename WA1
Position where it looks best
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add the same drop shadow BUT reduce the opacity to 30 and the blur to 4.95

Back to WordArt2
Selections, Invert
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename WA2
Position where it looks best
Add the same Gradient Glow but change the colors to orange (#FE9451)
Add the same drop shadow

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if needed, I resized to 75%, all layers unchecked
Position so your tube is sat/lay on the sand
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 6: Text Selection – Perspective Shadow
Choose the Perspective (Wide Selection) Wide, in Back setting

With these settings:

Open Element63 and resize to 25%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Drink
Position where it looks best, I moved it below my tube layer and slightly behind my tube
Add the same drop shadow as used on the wordart

Open Element20 and resize to 25%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Bottle 1
Image, Free Rotate, Left by 8 degrees
Position near the Buoy
Grab your freehand selection tool same settings as before
Draw a small selection at the base of Bottle 1

Selections, Modify, Feather by 2 pixels
Activate the Sand layer
Selections, Promote Selection to Layer – rename Bottle 1 Sand
Selections, None
Move the Bottle 1 Sand layer above the Bottle 1 layer, so the bottle appears to be buried in the sand a little
Activate the Bottle 1 and add the same drop shadow

Open Element10 and resize to 25%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Bottle 2
Position somewhere next to Bottle 1 and add the same drop shadow

Open Element11 and resize to 25%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Bottle 3
Image, Free Rotate, Right by 80 degrees
Position with Bottle 1 and 2 where it looks best
Add the same drop shadow

Open Element42 and resize to 25%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Coconut
Move below the Bottle layers and position behind the bottles where it looks best
Add the same drop shadow

Actiavte the white background layer
Open Paper13 and resize to 650 pixels
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Mask
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for RD_Mask822 or mask of choice
Source luminance, fit to layer and hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Erase any mask you can see below the sand
Duplicate and on the copy – change the blend mode to Multiply and reduce the opacity to 67

Activate the top layer
Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Hysteria
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise
Gaussian & Monochrome: Checked / Noise: 10%
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add the same drop shadow again

Add your artist copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Delete the white background layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done
