Like A Whirlpool

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used Biosi and Peony Hearts
MuRa’s Meister – Copies
VM Extravaganza – Radial Transmission
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Filters Unlimited 2 – Paper Textures
MPM_mask157 & MPM_mask161 by Millie

I used the awesome artwork of Delphine Demers
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Delphine’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 550 x 550
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Radial Blur
Effects, Plugins, MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Choose the Wall paper *Rotate with default settings
Adjust, Blur, Radial Blur

Duplicate and rename the copy Radial Transmission
Effects, Plugins, VM Extravaganza – Radial Transmission

Select your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance: 10 / Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select the very center circle, then select every other ring going outwards
You might have to click a couple of times in each ring to select it all

Selections, Modify, Feather by 5
Selections, Promote Selection to Layer
Selections, None
Rename the Promote Selection – Rings

Working on the Rings layer
Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise
Random & Monochrome: Checked / Noise: 4%

Activate Radial Blur and duplicate – rename the copy Radial Blur 2
Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Effects, Edge Effects, Enhance
Repeat the Enhance again
Change the blend mode to Hard Light

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Rename Mask 1
Duplicate and rename the copy – Mask 2
Hide Mask 2 for now

Activate Mask 1
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for MPM_mask161 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Set your foreground to black
Select your Change to Target brush with these settings:
Shape: Square / Size: 600 / Hardness, Density, Thickness and Opacity: 100 / Step: 10 / Roatation: 0 / Mode: Color
Click once with your foreground color on Mask 1

Unhide and activate Mask 2
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for MPM_mask157 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Duplicate and on the copy change the blend mode to Overlay

Select your preset shape tool with these settings:
Shape: Ellipse / Anti-Alias & Create as Vector: Checked / Line style: Solid / Width: 3.00
Set your foreground to any color, I used pink, set to your background to null
Draw a circle round the tag area
Note: I added a white background layer, just to make it clearer

Do Not Convert to Raster
Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Biosi
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Position your mouse over the edge of the vector circle
When you get a +A) or +T) symbol, click and add your text
Set the text so it goes round the circle

When happy with the text, click the + sign on the layer palette
On the indented layer, hide the Vector shape layer
Convert the text to raster and rename Text

Duplicate the text layer
Working on the original
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 6

On the copy
Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 44 / Blur: 3.96 / Color: #FFFFFF / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked
Add another drop shadow with these settings:
V&H: -2 / Opacity: 28 / Blur: 3.96 / Color: #000000 / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Position where it looks best, you want the tube a little bigger than the mask layers
Duplicate and on the original, add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 3 / H: 7 / Opacity: 44 / Blur: 5.94 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked
Still on the original
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for MPM_mask157 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Activate the Copy of Tube
Erase the bottom part of the tube, so you can see where the masked edge of the tube is
Only do this at the bottom, leave the top intact

Layers, Merge, Merge Visible to New Layer
Adjust, Blur, Radial Blur – same settings as used before
Select your Freehand Selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select the 4 corners

Now grab your Magic Wand, same settings BUT change the Tolerance to 15
Select round the circle part

Selections, Modify, Feather by 15 pixels
Press delete
Selections, None
Effects, Plugins, <I.C.Net Software>, Filters Unlimited 2 – Paper Textures
Choose a texture of choice – I used Canvas, Fine with these settings

Change the blend mode to Overlay

Select another font of choice – I used Peony Hearts
Keep the settings the same as before, changing the background color if required
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster and rename Name
Duplicate and working on the original
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 4

On the copy, apply the same Inner Bevel as used before
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 1 / H: 3 / Opacity: 44 / Blur: 1.98 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done
