Darkness

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube/Close Up of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used A Bite and Barcelony
Pink Curse by Kizzed By Kelz

I used the awesome artwork of Anna Liwanag
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Anna’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 650 x 220
Open Paper (2), copy and paste as a new layer
Position so the fence part is on the canvas

Rename BG 1

Open Paper (6) and resize to 50%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename BG 2
Position so the pink window is on the right side of the canvas

Duplicate BG 1 and move above BG 1
Move down so now the sky is on the canvas

Rename BG 3 and duplicate, rename the copy BG 4
On BG 3, change the blend mode to Overlay
On BG 4, change the blend mode to Multiply

Copy and paste your Tube/Close Up as a new layer – rename Tube
Position where it looks best
Change the blend mode to Luminance (Legacy)
Duplicate and on the copy, change the blend mode to Overlay
Still on the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 15
On the original, add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 2 / H: 10 / Opacity: 45 / Blur: 9.90 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Open Element (24), copy and paste as a new layer – rename Pink Roses
Position on the bottom left of your canvas, so only some of the roses are visible

Add the same drop shadow
Then move the Pink Roses below your Copy of Tube

Open Element (34), copy and paste as a new layer – rename Sparkles
Position on the right side of the canvas
You only want some of the sparkles showing
Change the blend mode to Luminance (legacy)

Open Element (30), copy and paste as a new layer – rename Right Gate
Position to the right wall is off canvas

Grab your selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select the left gate and wall

Selections, Promote Selection to Layer – rename Left Gate
Position so the left wall is off canvas

Add the same drop shadow to both Right Gate and Left Gate layers

Select your text tool and choose a grungy font – I used A Bite
Set your foreground to null, background to a light grey/off white color #F5EEF0
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your text of choice, I wrote ‘DARKNESS’
Position along the base of the canvas where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster and rename Text 1
Change the blend mode to Luminance (legacy) and reduce the opacity to 65

Add a new raster layer and flood fill with Black – rename Black Frame
Selections, All, Modify, Contract by 3 pixels
Press delete, then Selections, None
Add another new raster layer and flood fill with Pink #AE6180 – rename Pink Frame
Selections, All, Modify, Contract by 1 pixel
Selections, Invert and press delete
Selections, Invert, Contract by 1 pixel and press delete
Selections, None
Activate and duplicate the Black Frame
On the original – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 3

Select your text tool and choose another font – I used Barcelony
Set your foreground to null, background to a dark color – I used: #121213
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Duplicate and on the copy, using your Manual Color Correction tool (mini tut here)
Recolor to a complimentary color of choice, I used: #D54080
Convert to raster
Effects, Image Effects, Offset

Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

On the original (dark text) add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 45 / Blur: 3.96 / Color: Light Grey #9E9D9C / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Save as a jpg/png
All Done
