Don’t Be Afraid

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Font of Choice – I used Beautiful Heart
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
BeYou by Chaos Priestess

I used the awesome artwork of Simone Candini
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Simona’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 500 x 500 and flood fill with white
Open Frame7 and resize to 300 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Frame
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Move below the Frame and place the face within the Frame
Grab your selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Draw a section round the edge of the Frame
Selections, Invert
Activate the Tube and press delete
Selections, None
Activate the Frame and add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 4 / H: 3 / Opacity: 48 / Blur: 10.89 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Activate the white background layer
Open El07
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Back Flower
Position towards the top leftt of the frame, so only part of the Flower is showing
Add the same drop shadow

Open El33 and resize to 250 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Clock
Position behind the Tube/Frame on the top right, again so only part is showing
Add the same drop shadow

Open El43 and resize to 150 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Back Rose
Image, Mirror
Position at the bottom right of the Frame, covering the bottom part of the Clock
Add the same drop shadow

Activate the Frame
Open El29 and resize to 300 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename String
Position along the bottom edge of the Frame
Add the same drop shadow

Open El39 and resize to 200 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Bottom
Position on the bottom left of the Frame, where it looks best
Add the same drop shadow

Open El05 and resize to 150 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Vase
Position next to the bottle and add the same drop shadow

Open El04 and resize to 150 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Paper Rolls
Position on the bottom right of the Frame
Add the same drop shadow

Hide the white background layer
Crop away ALL excess canvas
Image, Increase Canvas Size, set it to 500 x 500, central placement selected
This will centralise the tag

Open El41, press shift + D to duplicate and close the original
Press Shift + B to open the Brightness/Contrast

Resize to 85%, all layers unchecked
Add a new raster layer and flood fill with Black
Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom
Layers, Merge, Merge Visible
Make a note of the image (mine is Image55)

Back to your tag and activate the white background layer
Don’t worry that’s no longer filled with white completely
Open a paper of choice – I used Paper4
Resize the paper to 500 pixels
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Mask
Layers, New Mask Layers, From Image
Find your image in the drop down menu, with these settings:

Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Resize to 95%, all layers unchecked
Reposition the mask if needed

Open Wordart
Grab your selection tool, with the same settings as before
Select the top section of text

Selections, Promote Selection to layer – rename Top
Selections, Invert, Promote Selection to layer – rename Bottom
Selections, None

Activate Top
Using your Manual Color Correction tool (mini tut here)
Recolor to a complimentary color from your tag
I set mine to #D9AAD9
Activate Bottom and recolor to another complimentary color
I used #484D46
Resize to 350 pixels wide, all layers checked

Activate Top again
Copy and paste as a new layer onto your tag
Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Position where it looks best
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
I used the color from my bottom text for the glow color

Back to the Wordart and activate Bottom
Copy and paste as a new layer onto your tag
Position where it looks best
Apply the same Gradient Glow, changing the color if needed
I used black for my glow color this time
If the text is not clear, duplicate and on the copy, set the blend mode to Screen

Crop away any excess canvas again
Layers, Merge, Merge to a New Layer
If you DO NOT have this options
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Paste as a new layer
Rename Blur and ensure this is the top layer (Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top)
Image, Increase Canvas Size to 500 x 500, central placement selected

Working on the Blur layer
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5
Change the blend mode to Screen and reduce the opacity to 81
Duplicate and on the Copy of Blur
Change the blend mode to Overlay and set the opacity to 100

Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Beautiful Heart
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, Convert to raster
Duplicate and on the original – Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 2
On the copy, add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H:2 / Opacity: 60 / Blur: 1.98 / Color: Black / Sahdow on new layer: Unchecked

Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done
