Dreams of Snow

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Animation Shop
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used Freja and The Bredan
Toadies – What Are You?
MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
TBT Mask 12 by Tonya
IB-SheenaPike_14-1 by Curious Creative Dreams

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 550 x 550 and flood fill with grey #929292
Open ele2
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Snowflake
Duplicate and rename the copy – Snowflake Toadies
Move this layer below the original Snowflake layer
Set both your foreground and background to #EDEBEB
Effects, Pugins, Toadies – What Are You?
Both values set to 20

Activate the Snowflake layer
Duplicate twice, for a total of 2 layers
Rename Snowflake 1, Snowflake 2 and Snowflake 3

Working on Snowflake 3
Effects, Plugins, DSB Flux – Bright Noise
Intensity: 37 / Click Mix Once
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 4 / Opacity: 36 / Blur: 7.92 / Color: #2C2C2C / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked
Hide this layer

Activate Snowflakes 2
Repeat the DSB Flux, clicking Mix once again
Add the same drop shadow and hide this layer

Activate Snowflake 1
Repeat the DSB Flux, clicking Mix once again
Add the same drop shadow

Activate Snowflake 3 (keep it hidden though)
Open ele7 and resize to 350 pixels wide
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Wheel
Position at the bottom of the Snowflake in the left side
Add the same drop shadow as used on the Snowflakes

Activate the Grey background
Open ele19 and resize to 35%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Blue Frame
Effects, Plugins, MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Choose the Encircle preset with these settings:

Add the same drop shadow as used previously

Activate the Snowflakes Toadies layer
Change the blend mode to Screen and duplicate
Leave the copy set to screen too

Activate Snowflake 3 again (keep it hidden still)
Open ele17 and resize to 400 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Tree
Position on the right side and add the same drop shadow

Activate the Wheel, which should be the top layer
Copy and paste your tube as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if needed, I resized to 75%, all layers unchecked
Position where it looks best
Duplicate and on the original, add the same drop shadow
On the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5
Change the blend mode to Hard Light and reduce the opacity to 53

Activate the Grey background layer
Flood fill with white
Add a new raster layer – rename Mask 1
Selections, All
Open a paper of choice – I used Pap6
Copy and paste into selection – Selections, None
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for TBT_Mask12 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Apply the mask again with the same settings
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Resize to 95%, all layers unchecked
Duplicate and on the copy, change the blend mode to Multiply

Hide the white background
Crop away any excess canvas
Unhide the white background again

Ensure the top layer is active
Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Freja
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your text of choice, I wrote ‘Dreams of Snow’
Position where it looks best and convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Duplicate and on the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5
Change the blend mode to Overlay and reduce the opacity to 65

Select your text tool again and choose another font (or keep the same one, the choice is yours)
I used The Bredan
Keep your settings the same changing the background color if needed
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Apply the same Gradient Glow, changing the color if required
Add the same drop shadow as used previously

Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
If you want to save as jpg/png
Hide the white background and save

To Animate
Ensure your white background is visible
Also ensure Snowflake 2 and Snowflake 3 are both hidden
Activate Snowflake 1 and lower the opacity to 80
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Open Animation Shop (AS)
Edit, Paste as a new animation

Back to PSP
Hide Snowflake 1 and unhide Snowflake 2
With Snowflake 2 the active layer, lower the opacity to 80
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste after current frame

Back to PSP
Hide Snowflake 2 and unhide Snowflake 3
With Snowflake 3 the active layer, lower the opacity to 80
Edit, Copy Special, Copy Merged
Over to AS
Edit, Paste after current frame

Save as a gif file
All Done
