Au Naturel

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube & Matching Image of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used FFF Galaxy, Bank Gothic Light, Times New Roman and Collyna
MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
Mask469 by Vix
Au Naturel Template by Me

I used the awesome artwork of Sara Butcher
You can purchase her work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Sara’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open the template provided, press shift + D to duplicate and close the original
Delete the credit layer
Activate the Raster 1
Increase the canvas size to 500 x 500, central placement selected
Flood fill Raster 1 with White and rename BG

Activate Merged layer
Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Activate Grey Square Edge
Copy and paste your tube or image of choice as a new layer – rename Grey
Position so it fills the selected area

Selections, Invert and press delete
Selections, None
Move the Grey layer so it’s between Grey Square Edge and Grey Square
You can now hide the Merged layer

On your Grey layer, duplicate and rename the copy – Dark Pink
Move this layer between Dark Pink Square Edge and Dark Pink Square
Duplicate Dark Pink and rename the copy – Light Pink
Move this layer between Light Pink Square Edge and Light Pink Square
Duplicate Light Pink and rename the copy Blue
Move the Blue layer between Blue Square Edge and Blue Square
Duplicate Blue and rename Purple
Move the Purple layer between Purple Square Edge and Purple Square
Duplicate Purple and rename Top
Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top
Hide this layer for now

Activate Grey Square Edge
Select your Magic Wand with these settings:
Mode: Add (shift) / Match Mode: RGB Value / Tolerance & Feather: 0 / Contiguous & Anti-Alias: Checked
Select inside – Selections, Modify, Expand by 2 pixels
Selections, Invert – Activate Grey and press delete
Selections, None

Activate Grey Square Edge again
Using your manual color correction tool (mini tut here)
Recolor to a complimentary color

Adjust, Add/Remove Noise, Add Noise
Gaussian & Monochrome: Checked / Noise: 35%
Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V&H: 2 / Opacity: 54 / Blur: 5.94 / Color: Black / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Activate Grey Square layer
Recolor to the same color as your Grey Square Edge
Activate Grey and change the blend mode to one of choice – I used Luminance (Legacy)

Repeat the above steps (in red) for the rest of the layers
Changing each to a different color and using different blend modes
This is what I have now

Unhide the Top layer
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 9
Change the blend mode to Overlay
Activate Merged Layer
Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Selections, Modify, Contract by 2 pixels
Selections, Invert
Activate Top again and press delete
Selections, None
Keep the Merged layer hidden

Select your text tool and choose a pixel font – I used FFF Galaxy
Set your foreground to null, background to a dark color from your tag
Create as vector: Checked / Anti-Alias: OFF
Type our your word/s of choice, I wrote ‘au naturel’
Repeat so it goes the full width of the canvas
Objects, Align, Center In Canvas and Convert to Raster and rename Text 1
Effects, Plugins, MuRa’s Meister – Copies
Choose the Tile preset

Crop your canvas to 500 x 500

Duplicate Text 1 and rename Text 2 – Hide Text 2 for now
On Text 1 – Layers, Arrange, Send to Bottom
Now move up a layer so it’s above your BG layer
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for Vix_Mask469 or a mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Activate the white background layer
Selections, All
Add a new raster layer – name it Base Mask
Copy and paste your Image into the selection
Selections, None
Duplicate and rename the copy – Top Mask
Layers, Arrange, Bring to Top – hide this layer for now

Activate Base Mask
Apply the same mask with the same settings
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Activate Text 2, you want this layer above Top Mask
Apply the same mask BUT check Invert
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Activate Top Mask
Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 9
Apply the same mask again, keeping Invert checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Activate Merged Layer
Selections, All, Float, Defloat
Selections, Modify, Contract by 2 pixels
Selections, Invert
Press delete on Text 2 and Top Mask
Selections, None

Activate Text 2, which should be the top layer
Select your text tool and choose a font – I used Bank Gothic Light
Set your foreground to null, background to a light color of choice
Create as vector: Checked / Anti-Alias: On
Add your text of choice, I wrote ‘au naturel’
Position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster – rename Text 3
Add the same drop shadow as used on the edges earlier

Select another font – I used Times New Roman
Keep your settings the same, changing the background color if required
Add your text of choice, I wrote au naturel again and the meaning under
Position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster and rename Text 4
Play about with the blend modes, I set mine to Luminance (legacy) and reduced the opacity to 65
Add the same drop shadow as used on Text 3

Select another font – I used Collyna
Keep your settings the same, again changing the background if required
Add your name and position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster and rename Name
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Add the same drop shadow as used previously

Add your artists copyrights and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Delete the BG and Merged layers
Crop away any excess canvas
Save as a jpg/png
All Done
