Oceans Apart

Supplies needed:
PSP – I used X9 but any version will do
Tube of Choice
Fonts of Choice – I used Impact and Dhelman
Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow
RD_Mask697 and RD_Mask673 by Rachel
Beach Waves kit by Kizzed by Kelz

I used the awesome artwork of Caron Vinson
You can purchase his work and a license from CDO
Please do not use Caron’s work without purchasing a license first.

Let’s Start
Open a new canvas 550 x 550 and flood fill with Grey #AAAAAA
Open Elements (24) and resize to 350 pixels high
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Net
Move the net down and to the left of canvas

Add a drop shadow of choice – I used:
V: 2 / H: 4 / Opacity: 30 / Blur: 3.96 / Color: #192E31 / Shadow on new layer: Unchecked

Open Elements (21) and resize to 60%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Wheel
Position at the top of the Net

Apply the same drop shadow

Open Elements (31) and resize to 40%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Anchor
Position so the top loop of the rope is on one of the handles from the wheel

Add the same drop shadow
Grab your selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Point to point / Mode: Add (shift) / Feather & Smoothing: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Select part of the rope you we can place it behind the handle

Selections, Promote Selection to Layer
On the original Anchor layer – press delete
Selections, None
Move the Promoted Selection below the Wheel layer

Activate the Net layer
Open Elements (40) and resize to 60%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Seaweed
Position so it’s behind the Wheel, where it looks best
Duplicate and on the original, apply the same drop shadow
On the copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 3
Reduce the opacity to about 50

Activate the Net again
Open Elements (37) and resize to 60%
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Coral
Position where it looks best behind the Seaweed
Duplicate and on the original – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5
On the copy, apply the same drop shadow

With Copy of Coral the active layer
Open Elements (74)
Copy and paste as a new layer – rename Sparkles
Image, Free Rotate, Right 90 degrees
Position where it looks best

Activate the Anchor layer, which should be the top layer
Copy and paste your tube of choice as a new layer – rename Tube
Resize if needed, I resized to 60%, all layers unchecked
Position your tube where it looks best
Duplicate twice so you have 3 tube layers
On the original – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5
On the top copy – Adjust, Blur, Gaussian Blur – radius set to 5
Change the blend mode to Soft Light
On the middle layer, add the same drop shadow

Activate the Grey background layer
Grab your selection tool with these settings:
Selection type: Rectangle / Mode: Add (Shift) / Feather: 0 / Anti-Alias: Checked
Draw a selection round your tag area

Copy and paste the selected part of your background as a New Image
Selections, All
Copy and paste a paper of choice into the selection – I used Papers (10)
Selections, None
Image, Free Rotate, Right 90 degrees, All layers Checked
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for RD_Mask697 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group
Layers, Load/Save Mask, Load Mask from Disk
Look for RD_Mask673 or mask of choice
Source luminance, Fit to layer and Hide all mask: Checked
Layers, Merge, Merge Group

Back on your tag – Selections, None
Copy and paste your Mask image as a new layer
Image, Free Rotate, 90 Degrees Left, All layers Unchecked
Position where it looks best behind the tag area
Duplicate and on the copy change the blend mode to Multiply
Activate the Grey background and delete it

Activate Copy of Seaweed
Select your text tool and choose a bold font – I used Impact
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your text of choice, I wrote ‘OCEANS APART’
Image, Free Rotate, 90 degrees Left
Position where it looks best
When happy, convert to raster
Reduce the opacity to about 42 and add the same drop shadow

Activate Copy 2 of Tube which should be the top layer
Grab your text tool again and choose another font – I used Dhelman
Set your foreground to null, background to a color of choice
Create as vector and Anti-Alias both checked
Add your name and position where it looks best
I angled mine a little
When happy, convert to raster
Effects, Plugins, Eye Candy 4000 – Gradient Glow

Effects, 3D Effects, Inner Bevel

Add the same drop shadow

Crop away any excess canvas
Add your artists copyrights, scrap credits and your own taggers watermark as a new layer
Save as jpg/png
All Done 🙂
